Norris Steele, formerly Basil Steele, but better known as Station Officer Steele, is a main character in the Welsh children's show mh:besttvshows:Fireman Sam. He is the station officer of the fire station.

In the first four seasons, he was played by John Alderton, in season 5, he was played by John Sparkes, and since season 6, he is played by David Carling.

Why He Rocked

1. He is a very good station officer and he knows a lot about fire safety, this is mainly due to him working in the station for a long time.
2. He is a very good teacher to the rest of the firefighters and he is always passionate about making sure they know everything about fire safety and discipline, he is especially a great station officer to Elvis Cridlington, who both have a funny chemistry.
3. He treats his staff with equality, which is notable when he treats Penny Morris just like Sam and Elvis in "Dilys' Forgetful Day".
4. He has also had a few funny moments in the series too, such as when he played golf in his office in "Trouble and Squeak", but ended up breaking his foot due to the golf ball hitting a trophy and it landing right on his foot.
5. While he is quick to anger if something goes wrong, he can be very funny when he does resort to anger.
6. John Alderton brings an excellent role for the character, with him giving a wise performance to the station officer himself.
   • John Sparkes also does a good job with role in season 5 too, as well as David Carling in the CGI era.

Bad Qualities

1. His character got a notable mh:loathsomecharacters:flanderization beginning with the CGI era.
