Tyson Granger (Japanese: 木ノ宮タカオ Kinomiya Takao), is the main protagonist from the Original Series, consisting of Beyblade, Beyblade: V-Force, and Beyblade: G-Revolution.

    Personality

He is the #1 Beyblader in the World, having won three world championships in a row, winning the first with the Bladebreakers, the second one with Max Tate and the third one with BBA Revolution.

Tyson was introduced as a cocky, confident, and fearless Blader who strived to be "Number One", even when he failed. Over the course of the series, while Tyson matures and ultimately grows as a blader and a person, some of his flaws (most notably his ego) also begin to become more prominent after the first season.

Tyson is a strong-willed Blader who is not afraid to speak his mind and in doing so, he seems to get into more trouble than most kids his age but he handles those troubles very easily.

Tyson is a really popular person inside the series. He had a lot of fans, even when he was an amateur. When he first won the regional tournament, many people picked up Beyblading just to be like him and defeat him. He has a lot of fans in his school as shown in Beyblade: V-Force, much to Hilary's dismay.

Although he is popular, he doesn't seem to have many close friends outside of his beyblading ones. Outside of Beyblade, Tyson doesn't make friends easily because of his competitive nature, but he usually leaves a profound effect on the ones he does, completely changing their attitudes and way of life. Tyson's biggest note is his strong sportsmanship, often in victory he was seen trying to encourage his opponents to keep going, this included Kai, Tala, Zeo Zagart and even Brooklyn.

Why He's the Rightful Wielder of Dragoon

    1. Tyson is an enthusiastic person who show his enthusiasm about everything, including Beyblading.
    2. He's one of the strongest Beybladers in the entire series, alongside with Kai.
    3. Not only is he a great blader, but he can also be good on a skateboard as shown in this scene.
    4. He has very great chemistry with his friends:
      • In the original scene of "Take it to the Max", we learn that Tyson once lost his mom at a young age when he tries to cheer up a depressed Max, which the viewers can sympathize with.
    5. Like Yugi Moto with Seto Kaiba, he has a friendly rivalry with Kai.
    6. He spawned a lot of funny scenes like:
    7. The BeyBattling scenes he has can be very entertaining.
    8. He can be pretty smart sometimes as seen in V-Force where he outsmarts his grandpa's sneak attacks.
    9. His character designs are great.
    10. His blade's designs are very unique and well-designed.
    11. He is a playable character in "DreamMix TV World Fighters".
    12. Marlowe Gardiner-Heslin and Motoko Kumai both do awesome jobs voicing him.

    Bad Qualities

    1. He can be jerkish sometimes.
      • In one episode, Tyson once went too far and tore up Hilary's training schedule and that caused Hilary to cry. Though he did make up for it.
    2. There are some wins from his battles that look unbelievably cheap where people could see that he could have lost.
    3. Hypocrisy: In the cutscene of the episode "The Qualifier Begins", he berates Carlos for putting knifes into his Beyblade, yet he has a good as god built into his.
    4. He can also be self-centered at times.
    5. Unfortunately, he suffered from minor flanderization in V-Force and the first half of G-Revolution where he acts extremely hotheaded, grumpy, arrogant, selfish and even somewhat disrespectful. Thankfully, his flanderization was only temporary since he took a level in kindness in episodes 14 & 15 of G-Revolution and fully redeemed himself in episodes 16-31. By the time of the second half of G-Revolution, he's fully back to his normal self since he reverted to his original personality from Season 1.
