"There will always be people who say mean words because you are different. And sometimes, their minds cannot be changed. But there are many more people that do not judge people based on how they look, or where they came from. Those are the people whose words truly matter." - Starfire

Starfire, sometimes Star (real name Princess Koriand'r) is one of the four deuteragonists of the 2003 animated series Teen Titans and the movies Teen Titans: Trouble in Tokyo and Teen Titans Go! vs. Teen Titans. She's an alien princess from the distant world of Tamaran, and one of the five founding members of the Teen Titans. She is also Robin's main love interest and finally becomes his girlfriend in the series finale movie.

Why She Is Stronger Than She Looks

    1. Starfire helped the Titans for years, working alongside the other four to protect Jump City from various menaces.
    2. During the times her sister, Blackfire, comes back, she won't hesitate to fight her when Blackfire does something wrong, like when Blackfire steals items and tries to frame her, and when Blackfire takes over their home planet. Starfire managed to win both times.
    3. Starfire has a pretty interesting backstory. She was raised by her family on her home planet, Tamaran. Later, she was traded as a slave to the Citadel to bring peace to a war-torn Tamaran. She later managed to escape and with the help of meeting the Titans on Earth, defeated the Citadel.
    4. Hynden Walch did a great job voicing her.
    5. Starfire is the most sensitive member of the Titans, as she's mostly portrayed as very happy to her friends and tries to make sure they don't fight. She's not afraid to show off her fighting spirit whenever she fights bad guys.
    6. She is able to make some good choices, like when she made Galfore the ruler, knowing he would be a good ruler, and knowing she herself would be unfit as a ruler since her heart is now set on Earth and her friends.
    7. Her relationship with Robin is good and cute, and it managed to grow as the series went on. It became the main focus of Trouble in Tokyo, when they become a couple by the end of the movie.
      • And this is saying something since she is also a "dude magnet" since many men have noticed her good looks and find her to be attractive (including Robin).
    8. Her design is very beautiful and cute.

    Bad Qualities

    1. Sometimes, Starfire can be too emotional which can get annoying at times.
      • She was rather hypocritical in "Forces of Nature". In the episode, Beast Boy attempts to prank Cyborg after being pranked by him. However, the prank is accidentally pulled on Starfire instead. When this happens, Starfire blames Beast Boy and doesn't let him explain the truth. What's hypocritical is that she says that his pranks are not funny when she has laughed at Beast Boy before when Cyborg pranked him by putting red dye in his shampoo, causing his skin to stay brown for a few days and this prank is just as bad.
    2. Out of all the main characters, Starfire never got a whole season focused on her, the Trouble in Tokyo movie notwithstanding.
    3. Why bother even asking about her infamous counterpart in Teen Titans Go!

    Trivia

    • Like Raven, Starfire technically goes by her real name instead of a superhero alias like the males on the team. Since ”Koriand'r” is just her Tamaranean name in English.
    • Her outfit is fairly different from her comic counterpart, being much less revealing in consideration of the younger audience. It is changed to a purple two-piece attire instead of a very skin-revealing monokini.
      • In almost all her appearances, Starfire is animated without a navel, even though her animation sheet shows her with one.
    • She is 156 years old in Tamaranean years.
    • Although she was freed from the clutches of the Gordanians and the Citadel, her memories of her imprisonment still haunt her: upon seeing The Creature from Jones Lake, she screams in terror—possibly due to its resemblance to a Citadelian.
    • Starfire is allergic to metallic chromium, (allergies to chromium are very common in Tamaran). It could be possible that Blackfire is allergic to it as well.
    • In the episode "Mother Mae-Eye", Starfire stated she has 9 stomachs, which may explain why she eats so much.
    • She and Cyborg are the only Titans that Slade never taunted.
    • According to Starfire, Tamaran's folk song consists mostly of screaming, which annoys Cyborg to no end.
