Starfire (Koriand'r) is the member of the Teen Titans and the one of the main protagonists of Teen Titans Go!. She is voiced by Hynden Walch. She has a likable version thereof in Teen Titans Go! To the Movies.
Why She is THE Best in This Movie
- She's a lot more likable in this film than she is in the TV show, and is arguably at her best here.
- She (and the other Titans) comforts Robin when he is feeling down from being considered not a hero by the other DC heroes.
- Just like Princess Bubblegum, Hynden Walch does an awesome job voicing her in this film, and is an improvement to the TV show.
- Her redesign is still decent and very passable, and she is still objectively cute.
- She can be really funny at times during the film, particularly the numerous fourth-wall breaks she makes with the rest of her team.
- She gives a good message of never giving up, and never let yourself be put down by the bad and hurtful things that people say about you, and what really matters is what you think of yourself.
- She's still the nicest out of the Titans at least.
- She is a bit more powerful than her original series counterpart.
- She and Raven still share good chemistry.
- She has awesome action in this movie, especially during the ending, where she uses her powers of very fast speed and green energy and laser blasts to help her team defeat Slade.
- She does care about saving the world in this movie.
- She has tons of heartwarming moments with her team, like when she (and the other Titans) tells Robin that he may not be a huge famous superhero, but he is a really good superhero to her.
- This version of TTG Starfire was pretty awesome, and may have improved her normal unlikable counterpart, as she started to become decent (until Teen Titans Go vs Teen Titans, which took a massive downgrade on what made her enjoyable in the first place).
Qualities That Are the Bad
- There is still her normal unlikable counterpart outside of the first movie.
- She does have some gross out moments in this film, similar to the TV show, like defecating in a prop toilet scene.
- She wasn't the best rapper during the Teen Titans rap, depending on your view.
- This version of TTG Starfire has aged poorly due to the two direct-to-video films that came thereafter.
Trivia
- In addition to voicing Starfire in both the 2003 and 2013 series, Hynden Walch also voices her in DC Super Hero Girls (the first incarnation), the New Teen Titans animated shorts, and the DC Super Friends webseries.
- Many characters within Teen Titans Go! are also voiced by her including Blackfire and Mother Nature.
- Princess Bubblegum, a character from the Cartoon Network show Adventure Time, is also voiced by Hynden Walch. Interestingly, the two characters share similar appearances and demeanors. And is also a good character, like this version of Starfire.
