Slinky Dog (better known as Slinky) is a supporting character in the Toy Story franchise. He is a toy dachshund who speaks with a graveled Southern accent.
Slinky possesses a plastic front and hindquarters, with a very stretchable metal slinky as his middle (hence his name), vinyl ears and a green collar.
Why He Rocks
- He's often very nice and a loyal friend to Woody.
- His design is downright adorable.
- Jim Varney did a great job voicing him. Blake Clark even givesd a decent performance.
- He was one of the only toys to actually believe Woody when he said that he pushed Buzz out of the window by accident.
- The toy he was based off of was a popular toy.
- If you ever get into trouble, you could expect this dog to save you.
- He has a memorable line which is "Golly bob-howdy!"
- He has some funny moments.
The Only Bad Quality
- He was treated pretty badly by Woody in the Black Friday Reel and he was one of Andy's least played toys.
Trivia
- For unknown reasons, in Toy Story 3, his eyebrows are thinner than in the first 2 movies.
- Jim Varney passed away on February 10, 2000 due to lung cancer.
- He might be one of Toy Story's most popular characters.
