Slappy Squirrel is a secondary character from Steven Spielberg's Animaniacs, she is an elderly, grouchy veteran cartoon tree squirrel who starred in metafictional Looney Tunes cartoons as Slappy, The Slap-Happy Squirrel. Today, she lives in a treehouse with her cute, perky and sweet nephew, Skippy Squirrel. She is voiced by Sherri Stoner.
Why She Rocks
- Just like Bugs Bunny, she is a karmic trickster who usually has a specific revenge term on those who are mean to her and/or Skippy.
- She cares a lot about her nephew, Skippy.
- Most of the ways she defeats her foes is through classic Golden-Age cartoon methods such as bombs and mallets.
- Her design is great.
- Just like the Warner trio, she also breaks the fourth wall several times.
- She has many memorable quotes such as "Now That's Comedy!" and "You remind me of a very young (old cartoon character)".
- Sherri Stoner does a great job voicing her.
- She is also pretty badass for her age.
- She, along with The Warner Siblings and Pinky and The Brain, and even the Goodfeathers, are one of the best things and segments from Animaniacs.
Bad Qualities
- Due to her age, she usually acts like a crank.
- She is also gross at times such as belching.
- While most of her attacks towards her enemies is usually justified, she sometimes goes too far and attacks anyone who hasn’t done anything wrong to her such as Candie Chipmunk on I Got Yer Can.
- She's flanderized in seasons 3-5.
- She was absent along with the rest of the cast with an exception of Pinky and the Brain on the 2020 reboot, though she did made a cameo on Good Warner Hunting.
