Sheriff Woodrow Pride (also known as Sheriff Woody or simply Woody) is one of the main characters of the Toy Story franchise. He is the protagonist of the movies and a supporting character in the Toy Story Treats, the Toy Story Toons shorts, and the two TV specials Toy Story of Terror!, and Toy Story That Time Forgot.
Why He’s Our Favorite Deputy
- He stands up for his friends like when he tried to help his friends like Buzz and Forky like when he leaves Bonnie's car in order to get Forky back and he told Forky how being a toy is better than being trash.
- He is hilarious and says some very clever lines in dialogue like "The word I'm searching for, I can't say, because there's pre-school toys present."
- He is one of the most iconic and memorable Pixar characters.
- He is very smart and observant, as he can come up with very sharp plans. Like his plan to stop Buzz Lightyear from being blown to pieces by Sid Phillips.
- He regretted hating on Buzz in the first movie and tries to help him as seen from WHR#4.
- He spawned a lot of great memes such as "X is everywhere" and memes based on his face being notable examples.
- He is amazingly voiced by the talented Tom Hanks.
- He is one of the most complex Pixar characters, as he expresses a wide range of emotions, which makes him human and relatable.
Bad Qualities
- As of the first Toy Story movie, while he's still likable and sympathetic, he was unnecessarily jealous about Buzz about that Andy likes him more than Woody.
- Although, to be fair, it wasn't just being Andy's favorite toy that Woody was losing, he was also losing his friends.
- The Black Friday Reel version of him was so bad, he nearly shut down Pixar and cancelled Toy Story.
