    Samey (Total Drama: Pahkitew Island)

    Sammy
"I'm cool that Jasmine knows I'm not Amy, because we're pals. As for everyone else, I have to sound and look like my sister."
    Gender: Female
    Type: The Good Twin
Age: 16 (Total Drama: Pahkitew Island)
    Species: Human
    Portrayed by: Bryn McAuley
    Status: Alive
    Media of origin: Total Drama

Samantha "Sammy" (commonly called "Samey") was a contestant on Total Drama: Pahkitew Island as a member of the Pimâpotew Kinosewak.

She was voiced by Bryn McAuley, like her twin sister Amy.

    Personality

Samey, who prefers being called "Sammy," is the twin sister of Amy. She is very kind, but also quite timid due to her sister's cruel treatment and intimidating nature greatly damaging her self-esteem. She is the strategist of the two and is more willing to help her team, but Amy continues taking credit for her accomplishments, leading many to believe Sammy is actually the "inferior" twin. She has a hard time speaking up for herself as much as she wants to, but encouragement from Jasmine, who serves as her older sister figure, finally spurs her revenge in "Twinning Isn't Everything" when she switches places with Amy. This turn of events sparks Sammy's quiet demeanor to become more courageous, calling Amy out for her behavior and fighting her back without hesitation, making her able to stand up to her and be more confident. Sammy and her sister are both members of a cheerleading team, as evidenced by their uniforms. Despite Samey's nervous and anxious demeanor, she proves herself to be quick at making friends, seen by her experience with Jasmine.

Why She Truly IS the Nice One

    1. She's one of the Pahkitew Island contestants that were actually likable.
    2. She is way nicer than her sister Amy, and it's definitely shown, even while pretending to be Amy, she still shows some of her nice traits.
    3. We can feel sorry for her being in her sister’s shadow, being bullied and abused by Amy, and that she just wanted to get away from Amy and feel safe.
    4. Thanks to advice from Jasmine, as well as learning from her and Shawn about the poisonous apple, she finally stood up to Amy in "Twinning Isn't Everything". She also gives Amy her comeuppance by tricking her into eating a poisonous apple, this led her to be unable to speak and get eliminated in Sammy's place as a result, which was satisfying (even if Amy unfairly returned two episodes later).
    5. Her friendship with Jasmine is portrayed nicely and is one of the highlights of this season.
    6. Besides Jasmine, she also got along with the other better members of her team, even while pretending to be Amy, which were Scarlett and Max.
    7. She's so kind, she didn't even mind her more annoying teammates (with the exception of her sister), being Rodney and Topher.
    8. She likes to help in any way she can to others, like how she helped Jasmine forage for food.
    9. She's one of the good members of her team:
      • In "So, Uh This Is My Team?", she helped her team build their shelter during the challenge.
      • In "I Love You, Grease Pig!" she pulled her team’s pig to the grease pipes part of the challenge, and then the pig pulled her and Amy through the pipes to get to Scarlett.
      • In "Twinning Isn't Everything", she hit Dave during the Doom Balloon challenge.
      • In "I Love You, I Love You Knots", in the Truth or Scare challenge, she told the truth that she hates her sister, while pretending to be Amy herself, which got her team a point, and thankfully, Jasmine stepped up to save her before she could get exposed.
      • In "A Blast from the Past", she did get her team a dueling stick during the challenge.
    10. She managed to be a good friend to her teammates, especially Jasmine, and unlike her sister, she managed to get used to their weirdness and work together with them.
    11. Her design is pretty attractive and cute.
    12. Bryn McAuley did a good job voicing her.

    Bad Qualites

    1. While her voice is good, it can get a little bit obnoxious at times, but not as much as Amy's voice.
    2. She was a butt-monkey, mainly due to Amy bullying and abusing her, and making her look bad, which is what makes Sammy’s trick on Amy satisfying. Unfortunately, Amy returned in "A Blast from the Past", when Sammy was about to help her team win. This caused her team to lose as a result when Amy tackled her, and also resulted in both twins being eliminated.
      • In addition, Samey never returned in the finale of Pahkitew Island, meaning her conflict with Amy was never resolved.
    3. While her revenge on Amy was well-deserved to the latter, it also forced her to behave more like her sister due to their switching places. Unfortunately, since Samey was only in two more episodes, this would mean that she would never get the proper character development outside of her relationship with Amy.

    Trivia

    • A staff member confirmed that her full name is Samantha.
      • Her preferred name in both spelling and pronunciation, is "Sammy", but she is called "Samey" due to being identical to her sister and due to being considered "the lesser Amy".
      • This makes her one of the nine contestants to be known by their nickname, the others being DJ, Blaineley, Lightning, B, MacArthur, Scary Girl, MK, and Zee.
    • Sammy is the first, and currently the only contestant to have tricked someone else into being eliminated in their place.
    • Sammy is the only female contestant to be eliminated normally in Total Drama: Pahkitew Island.
    • According to Amy, Sammy is the younger twin by seventeen minutes.
    • Sammy is the first contestant from the third generation cast to use the confessional.
    • Sammy is the only contestant from the third generation cast to have worn nightwear.
    • On Cake Entertainment's promotional poster, Sammy is incorrectly labelled as the evil twin.
    • When asked if Sammy has a crush on Topher due to always being around him and smiling when he's near, Christine Thompson has opined that maybe Sammy harbored a small crush on him.
    • As seen on Fresh TV's website, Amy and Sammy originally had matching labels "The Cheerleader Twins".
