Ralph Wolf and Sam Sheepdog are a duo of characters from the Looney Tunes franchise, created by the late Chuck Jones.

    Why They Rock

    1. They are written rather uniquely and creatively. Off the clock, they are best friends who support each other and stick together to the very end, but as soon as they punch in and the whistle blows, they square off like a sheepdog protecting his flock of sheep from predators.
      • Not only that, while their cartoons tend to be non-verbal for the most part, the duo have very limited dialogue where the only time they have dialogue is when they give their famous exchanges before and after work.
    2. Their famous exchange of "Mornin' Ralph. Mornin' Sam", which is repeated at the end of their cartoons as "Goodnight, Ralph. Goodnight, Sam".
    3. Just like fellow Looney Tunes characters, such as Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner, their rivalry during work hours makes for some very entertaining gags.
    4. Despite their on-the-clock rivalry, they exhibit no hard feelings towards each other once the day is done, making them a good example of a loyal and unbroken friendship.
    5. They have their own video game in 2001, titled Sheep, Dog 'n' Wolf (titled Looney Tunes: Sheep Raider in North America) which is classified as not just one of the best Looney Tunes licensed games, but also one of the best PlayStation titles.

    Bad Qualities

    1. They aren't as well known as the other Looney Tunes cast, only appearing in seven shorts during the classic era.
    2. Other than having white eyes, a red nose and a slightly duller fur color, Ralph's design is somewhat unoriginal as he looks too much like Wile E. Coyote, another Chuck Jones character, similar to how Friz Freleng's Spike the Bulldog (no relation to Tom and Jerry's Spike) looks too much like Hector the Bulldog from Friz Freleng's Tweety and Sylvester cartoons. As a result, in the Taz-Mania episode, "Mutton for Nothing", Sam mistakenly calls him "that Coyote", and Ralph Wolf is often absent when Wile E. Coyote is around with Sam Sheedog in various Looney Tunes spin-off media when Wile E. and Sam share screen-time together (presumably to avoid confusion between both Ralph Wolf and Wile E. Coyote).
