    Incredible Characters Wiki
    Rainbow Dash
"What'd I say? Ten. Seconds. Flat. I'd never leave Ponyville hangin'."
    Gender: Female
    Type: Mischievous and Loyalty Pegasus
    Species: Pegasus
    Portrayed by: Ashleigh Ball
    Status: Alive
Media of origin: 'My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic'

Rainbow Dash is a female Pegasus and one of the main characters in My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic. She maintains the weather and clears the skies in Ponyville. As a huge fan of the Wonderbolts, she becomes a reservist member of the elite flying group in "Testing Testing 1, 2, 3" and a full member in Newbie Dash. In "Sonic Rainboom", Rarity and Princess Celestia both declare that she is the best flier in all of Equestria. She is also the only daughter of Bow Hothoof and Windy Whistles. She is voiced by Ashleigh Ball alongside one of her best friends Applejack.

    Why She's 20% Cooler

    1. She is the Element of Loyalty and portrays it well in almost any moment, especially when she turned down a potentially big chance to be a famous flyer for the sake of her friends.
    2. She has one of the coolest designs in the show.
    3. The black-tinted glasses she occasionally wears look cool on her.
    4. She is really helpful to her friends. An example of this is how she volunteered in helping Twilight learn to fly in "Princess Twilight Sparkle - Part 1".
    5. In "Testing Testing, 1, 2, 3", she's revealed to have the ability to focus on many things at once from a bird’s eye view while flying. When she's in the air, she monitors the ground and sky for trouble and makes note of everything she hears and sees.
    6. Her competitiveness is admirable, as she is shown to be very fast and wins almost every race she takes part in, one victory made possible by the legendary “Sonic Rainboom” even granting her with her cutie mark back when she was a filly.
    7. She is very passionate and works her hardest to achieve her goals and dreams.
    8. In “Rainbow Falls” she made the right choice to be on Ponyville’s team over Cloudsdale’s because while she loves winning, she loves her friends "waaay more".
    9. She is extremely confident in herself and her physical abilities.
    10. She also has a fun and mischievous side to her, like scaring ponies with thunder on Nightmare Night, but as long as it doesn't go to far.
    11. Uncommon for a character of her personality and tomboy archetype, she adores reading almost as much as Twilight, mainly Derring Do books.
    12. There is a funny recurring gag in the show with Rainbow Dash being obsessed with cider, as shown in "The Super Speedy Cider Squeezy 6000".
    13. She is an exceptional fighter, and this is shown multiple times in the show, including the invasion of the Changelings.
    14. Her voice actress, Ashleigh Ball, portrays her character excellently well.
    15. Realism in her character. Sometimes, she shows some signs of insecurity and self-consciousness about her image.

    20% Uncooler Qualities

    1. She once stated that she hated losing and tried to cheat by using her wings in “Fall Weather Friends”, making her a little too competitive and a sore loser. Thankfully, she would play by the rules more and be more of a good sport in “Equestrian Games” and “Brotherhooves Social.”
    2. She is known well for being very egotistic, showing signs of narcissistic personality disorder.
    3. Similar to Batman from The Lego Movie, and Donkey Kong from The Super Mario Bros. Movie, she can sometimes be a jealous and/or self-righteous jerk, which can make her a little unlikable at times. For instance, when Mare Do Well (really her friends in disguise) became the new hero of Ponyville, Rainbow cared more about her own reputation as a hero than actually saving lives. In “Tanks for the Memories”, she tried to stop winter from happening just to spend more time with her pet tortoise, Tank, yet she should’ve known Tank had to hibernate for his own health since he's a reptile. In “2, 4, 6, Greaaat!”, she was ignoring her assigned duty of coaching the Buckball cheerleaders, and addressing how she thought cheerleading was pointless really hurt the team’s feelings.
      • She was arguably at her ABSOLUTE WORST in "28 Pranks Later", where she constantly pulled pranks on everyone in town just for her own satisfaction. For instance, she could’ve suffocated Cranky Doodle Donkey with the skunk in place of his wig, and could’ve broken Mr. Carrot Cake’s teeth with that brick sandwich.
    4. Don't even get us started on her infamous counterpart in Pony Life.
    5. In My Little Pony: The Movie, while still likable, she boasted about the rainboom to Capper, even offering to perform it, but he turns her down. Later, she performs it for Captain Celaeno and her crew; unfortunately, this accidentally gave their position away to Tempest Shadow.
    6. The scene in “Tanks for the Memories” where she is crying loudly as she still wanted to have her first winter with Tank, while understandably sad, can be very annoying at times.
    7. Her parents are overly supportive of her and inadvertently embarrass her, which could be the cause of Rainbow’s overconfidence and NPD; this causes the three to have a delicate relationship with each other.
