Panda King is a former antagonist turned minor protagonist of the Sly Cooper franchise. He was a frustrated firework artist turned homicidal pyromaniac turned friend. He was voiced by Kevin Blackton.
Why He Rocks
- Panda King is a memorable minor character for the Sly Cooper franchise.
- He is very quotable. "Palms of thunder!" "Fiery wheel!" "Booming chop!"
- As with the other Fiendish Five members except Clockwerk, he does radio chatter at the base two times.
- Kevin Blackton did a spectacular job voicing Panda King and is considered one of his most memorable roles.
- Panda King's gameplay in the third game is good, with great controls for the fireworks. He can use a flaming karate chop on enemies.
- He upgraded from minor villain of Sly 1 to minor hero of Sly 3 with more screen time.
- He undergoes great character development in the third game. He was mentally fixated on his defeat until Sly eventually made him sad. He even tells himself that Sly Cooper taught him humility. He decides to protect his daughter Jing King from General Tsao and eventually joins the Cooper Gang so they can open the Cooper Vault.
The Only Bad Quality
- He was surprisingly too easy to defeat in Sly 1. It makes more sense when you realize he was originally the first boss.
Trivia
- Panda King was originally the first boss of Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus.
