    NOTE: Happy 80th Birthday Mr. Krabs and Plankton!

    "Eugene Harold Krabs", commonly known as Mr. Krabs, (born November 30, 1942) is one of the main characters of the SpongeBob SquarePants series. He is not only the money-obsessed founder of the Krusty Krab, but he is also the father of Pearl Krabs, the boss of SpongeBob and Squidward, and the business rival of Plankton who owns the Chum Bucket that is right next street to The Krusty Krab.

    Why He Can Keep His Very First Dime And Deserved Money

    1. He does show care about SpongeBob and Pearl other than Squidward, even if he is a businessman who prioritizes money more often than not.
    2. He tells SpongeBob some of his stories about his life, like for example, he was in the navy, which that was in "Shell of a Man" and he used to have been best friends with Plankton before, that's even in "Friend or Foe".
    3. He acts like a real soldier as if he was still at war with another person, but doesn't take his job too seriously.
    4. In "Whale of a Birthday", he actually promised Pearl that he would never destroy Pearl's 16th birthday even how much of a cheapskate he is.
    5. Unlike Squidward, who screams at SpongeBob so much, he treats him as if he was actually his son, and tells him what's best for him (most of the time).
    6. His best quotes are:
      • "Hello, I like money." from the first movie;
      • "The money is always right." from "Krusty Krab Training Video";
      • "Ahoy." from various episodes;
      • "Have a bowl Mr. Squidward!" from Fried Chili Cheese Dog's SpongeBob videos
      • "OW! ME (Dolphin chirping) FOOT!" from "Sailor Mouth";
      • "I'll have your rear ends cut off, and mount it over me fire place!" from "Wet Painters";
      • "We shall never deny a guest, even the most ridiculous request." from "Krusty Towers";
      • "Don't touch the THERMOSTAT! and Who touched ME THERMOSTAT?!" from "Krabs à la Mode";
      • "Sweet Davy Jones' locker! WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON?!" from "Krab Borg";
      • "WWWHHHHAT?! YOU THINK I'M A ROBOT?!" from "Krab Borg";
      • "That's the SILLEST thing I've ever heard! I AM MR KRABS!!!" from "Krab Borg";
      • "NO! Wait! What are you gonna do to my blender? That costs me MONEY!!" from "Krab Borg";
      • "NOOO!! NOT MY CASH REGISTER!! I raised it myself! I got it when it was just a little calculator noohohohoo... I loved it like it was me OWN... oohooo I remember the LAUGHS we used to SHARE." from "Krab Borg";
      • "RRRRR!! SQUIDWAAAAAAAARRRRRRD!!!!!!!!" from "Krab Borg";
      • "That smell. A kind of smelly smell. The smelly smell that smells... smelly. Anchovies... ANCHOVIES!!!" from "Help Wanted".
      • "Yes, Mummy" from "Mid-Life Crustacean".
    7. He gives SpongeBob and Patrick some best advice in episodes like "Hooky" and "Sailor Mouth".
    8. He is excellent at beating his arch-rival Plankton, against any and all odds.
    9. He helped Squidward perform a band for the Bubble Bowl in "Band Geeks".
    10. He sang a song duet with SpongeBob and about how much he missed him, and even cared in "Welcome to the Chum Bucket".
    11. He even helped decorate SpongeBob's house for his birthday in "SpongeBob's Big Birthday Blowout".
    12. After being flanderized during Seasons 6-10, he managed to revert to his original personality in Season 11.

    Intentional Greedy Qualities

    1. He has been noticeably flanderized between seasons 6 and 10, with his obsession for money becoming so exaggerated that it becomes his overall main character trait. Due to his greed, he also became much more of a one-dimensional scumbag who was incredibly psychopathic, arrogant, egotistical, selfish, reckless and downright sadistic, in particular in the infamous episode "One Coarse Meal", where Mr. Krabs becomes more and more of a "despicable comic book villain" who would do horribles things for his money obsession such as torturing multiple people, including Plankton (who is the comedic bad guy of the show) and it makes Krabs come across as a lot more villainous than Plankton was meant to be. However, in seasons 9 and 10, he still had yet to redeem himself although he was more tolerable in these seasons, and thankfully, he has managed to recover from his flanderization and is now decent again as of season 11.
      • Indeed, his flanderization go so bad, it made several viewers worldwide see Mr. Krabs in a much worse light than how he was first seen in the show, and has been now viewed as a "famous but heartlessly money-obsessed CEO", and he is still seen as this even after he had redeemed himself by season 11 (where some episodes that reverts to his greedy self, still makes most viewers forget the fact that Krabs is meant to be a anti-heroic businessman), thus making him seen as a overall polarizing character because of this.
    2. Even before and after seasons 6-10, his greed can still get the best of him and make him act way too similar to his flanderized self (as discussed above) in episodes like "Krabby Land", "Born Again Krabs", "Jellyfish Hunter", "Whale Watching", and "The Krusty Slammer", where most of the examples listed here has Krabs resorting to selfish and abusive actions because of his money obsession, two examples include abusing jellyfish for his Krabby Patties to be tastier in "Jellyfish Hunter" and exploiting children out of their parents' money in "Krabby Land" (which is an infamous moment of his greed, mind you).
    3. HE SOLD SPONGEBOB'S SOUL TO THE FLYING DUTCHMAN FOR 62 CENTS. You know you've done something truly bad when it's Squidward Tentacles of all the characters in the show, who doesn't give a single crap about his job as a cashier, is the one to point that out to Krabs.
    4. He can be extremely rude to Squidward and even SpongeBob at times, with "Clams" being the worst offender since Mr. Krabs mainly forces SpongeBob and Squidward into retrieving a dollar for him.
      • On top of that, he still had some very mean-spirited moments even before he was flanderized. "Karate Choppers" is the biggest and worst offender in which he accuses SpongeBob for karate chopping with Sandy and fires him, even when SpongeBob does nothing wrong. While it makes sense that Mr. Krabs thought that SpongeBob was karate chopping with Sandy even though he shouldn't be, the way he berated him for that is quite mean-spirited and even painful of him. Luckily, he does get some redemption at the end.

    • In a theory based on SpongeBob and his friends representing "The 7 Deadly Sins", Mr. Krabs is considered to be the "Greed" as several examples were shown in many episodes that always shows how much he loves so much for his money, even in the most ridiculous and silliest ways possible.
