    Media of origin: Megamind

Megamind is the titular main protagonist of the franchise of the same name. He is voiced by Will Ferrell.

    Why He Was A Megamind

    1. His redemption arc is one of the most compelling in all animated films.
    2. His backstory demonstrates that he is not a bad person by nature, but his circumstances made him into a villain.
      • His rivalry with Metro Man stems from his childhood. Metro Man was a bully as a kid, yet had a privileged upbringing and had been praised for his "heroics" at school despite how much he mistreated Megamind. Megamind, on the other hand, was a good kid at heart despite his criminal upbringing, but was bullied and ostracized by his peers for his appearance and scolded by his teacher for his mistakes even though those mistakes were completely unintentional.
    3. Despite his role as a supervillain, he is pretty much harmless (for the most part).
      • He shows genuine respect towards Roxanne Richi, as he never harms her in his schemes.
    4. It quickly becomes apparent that for all his grand evil schemes, he's not truly playing to win. He's baffled that he actually manages to kill Metro Man and it doesn't take long before he realizes that he needs someone to step up and challenge him.
    5. He is also the master of illusion, similar to Zoroark from Pokémon, where he disguises as Bernard, the Warden, Metro Man, and Space Dad to trick prisoners or Tighten, to temporary date with Roxanne, and to train Hal respectively.
    6. Even though he occasionally takes Minion for granted, he sees him as his best friend and cares about his well-being.
    7. His most heroic feat occurred when he stopped Tighten from destroying Metro City.
    8. His romantic chemistry with Roxanne is genuine and delved deeply.
    9. One of Megamind's defining traits is that he never gives up. Roxanne even describes it as being his best quality, that he will never run from a fight even when he knows he has absolutely no chance of winning.
    10. He does appear as a guest racer in Dreamworks All-Star Kart Racing since he is a fan-favorite character.
    11. Will Ferrell does an awesome job voicing him, and he uses his normal voice that he uses in most of his media.
      • Nolan North did a decent job voicing him in Dreamworks All-Star Kart Racing.

    Bad Boy Qualities

    1. As mentioned above, Megamind occasionally belittles and takes Minion for granted.
    2. He deceived Roxanne under the disguise of Bernard.
    3. He was horrendously flanderized in Megamind vs. the Doom Syndicate and the TV series, Megamind Rules! as he now became a complete incompetent idiot who doesn't know how to be a superhero at all, which makes his flanderization even more damaging since he grew as a person in the previous film and at the end of the first film was accepted by the citizens of Metro City and became the hero of the city they've been needing since Metro Man faked his death and grew tired of being a superhero.

    • Megamind is notably similar to Gru from Despicable Me, another aspiring supervillain who eventually quits his career and takes on a more heroic role.
