Megatron ‘Meg’ Harvey Oswald Griffin is the daughter of Peter and Lois Griffin, the sister of Chris and Stewie Griffin, and one of the main characters of the long-running animated adult TV series Family Guy. She was voiced by Lacey Chabert during season 1 and most of season 2, and from the rest of season 2 onward, she is now currently voiced by Mila Kunis.

Why She's a Great Teenage Girl

    1. She's the most serious, realistic and relatable one out of all the members of the Griffin family.
    2. Despite her rough life, she cares about her friends and family, and will do anything for them whenever their in danger or need help. She also reconciles with Stewie in "Peter’s Lost Youth", with both of them being on good terms now.
    3. Though appearing quiet and smart on the outside, on the inside she is actually very tough.
    4. Lacey Chabert and Mila Kunis both do amazing jobs at voicing her.
    5. In some parts, she stood up towards her bullies/abusers/enemies
      • Like in "The D in Apartment 23", she along with Chris beat up a bunch of students in the cafeteria.
    6. In "Better Off Meg", she faked her death and went to a new town, made some new friends, and had fun, but after seeing how much her mom, Lois, misses her (and Brian to some extent), she came back to Quahog to reunite with her family.
    7. As crazy as it can sound like, she could arguably be considered better than Lisa Simpson, since Meg has shown to be just as interesting as the rest of her family, as a teenage girl who is more serious, realistic, relatable, and always find ways to deal with her rough life, especially in the later seasons. Her personality is also better and less bland than Lisa's is. It's kinda funny that Meg has always stayed slightly more likable than Lisa, even when they were both flanderized, as Lisa suffered worse flanderization than Meg, and Meg recovered from her flanderization faster than Lisa did.
    8. Her, along with Stewie and Chris, are the only ones who barely changed character, even after flanderization.
    9. From seasons 15-onward, Meg has fully redeemed herself and became lovable again, as she finally reconciles with her family and so the abuse towards her has stopped, and she's way less of a butt-monkey now. She also says strong despite Peter and Lois Griffin, after their flanderization, ignore her (but they occasionally show care for her now).
      • She is slightly starting to be less of being a somewhat butt-monkey, with even less butt-monkey moments to almost non-existent, and is more closer to her original personality starting with season 21.
    10. She also has a group of friends, Beth (although she hasn't appeared since season 6), Patty, Esther, and Ruth, who have similar lives with her and they are always there for each other, and they always cheer up Meg, and it's always nice to have friends there for you.
    11. She looks hot and even less "ugly" than anticipated on the show.
    12. She has got a lot of talent ranging from playing the saxophone (better than Lisa even), Olympic biathlete, singing "Love Is A Battlefield" in Russian, and so much more.
    13. She has some funny moments.

    "Shut Up Meg" Qualities

    1. Her, along with the rest of her friends and family, have been flanderized in later seasons, though it was just the role that was flanderized, not her entire personality, but thankfully in her case, it was only during seasons 8-14. Since then, along with Stewie, she remained to be the most likeable character.
    2. She became a Butt-Monkey since season 4, who gets abused and belittled by her dad every time he and the world interact with her, hence, she was one of the three characters that coined "Megward the Wizard", where she is the series punching bag that gets bothered by her dad constantly or belittled by others. Thankfully, after Peter, Chris and Stewie reconciled with her around season 14 and Lois reconciled with her in season 22, there have been far less butt-monkey moments with her since her redemption, but to minor extent her punching bag trope was brought back in season 17.
    3. She's one of those girls who don't take no for an answer.
    4. Even though she is still likable, she does have some unlikable moments:
      • In "Boys and Squirrels", while nowhere as bad as Brian and Peter, she comes across as bland and even wants to take a picture of the dead bodies of the baby squirrel's family.
      • In the episode that Family Guy would have a major jump-the-shark moment, "Not All Dogs Go to Heaven", she becomes a born again Christian, but instead of being a positive influence, it actually brings out the worst in her. She attempts to convert Brian, who happens to be an atheist. When he repeatedly refuses, she spreads word of Brian's atheism around Quahog, which generally hates atheists, making him a pariah, all to help/force him to believe in God, not caring about Brian’s feelings and causing disaster for him during the rest of the episode.
      • In the episode "Girl, Internetted", she cared more about trying to get famous over eating random things and did not have a single care about her health.
      • In the episode "Barely Legal" (while a good episode) she forcefully kidnapped Brian and desperately wanted to get with him all because Brian went with her at a party, stood up towards Connie D'Amico for her and then they made out. Meg even wanted to kill herself if she didn't went to the party with a partner. Luckily Meg learned her lesson when Quagmire explained her what she needed in life.
      • She was at her absolute worst in "Peter's Lost Youth", because she punishes Stewie which is justifiable because he defecated on the wall but she goes too far by threatening to strike him in the face, which is child abuse.
