Why They Rock
Overall
- Both of them have plenty of hilarious quotes and moments such as “We’ve got no food, we’ve got no jobs, our pets’ heads are falling off!” and “Hey, want to hear the most annoying sound in the world?”.
- Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels had great chemistry and felt like they were actual friends.
- They are considered one of Carrey and Daniels’ best roles.
- Their Mutt Cutts van is cute and funny. It is an 84 sheepdog.
- Minus a third member, they are considered good clones of the Three Stooges. It helps that the Farrelly brothers worked on a Three Stooges movie in 2012.
- Lloyd was nice enough to give Harry a bike so they can go to Aspen.
Lloyd
- Lloyd is considered to be one of Jim Carrey’s first notable roles and it shows.
- He has a healthy relationship with Mary Swanson.
- His dream sequence is really funny to watch.
- He had a chipped tooth, which was Carrey’s actual chipped tooth and to make Lloyd look funnier.
Harry
- He was given a bulletproof vest so Nicholas André wouldn’t kill him.
- While gross, the scene where he tries fixing the toilet is comedic delight.
- It is a nice departure from Jeff Daniels’ usual dramatic roles, proving he can work well in comedies.
Bad Qualities
Overall
- They were flanderized in the 2014 sequel.
- They each have some gross out moments, including where Lloyd urinates in dozens of bottles in the van.
