Leslie McGroarty is the main protagonist in The Itsy Bitsy Spider franchise. She is a tough and short-tempered young girl who lived in the big city, and she is full of energy. One day, during the piano lesson, she sees a country spider named Itsy for the first time.
Why She Rocks
She is Hyperion Animation's very first female character, ever to be a main protagonist.
The toughest city girl was Hyperion Animation's biggest hardcore tomboy, and she acted a lot more masculine.
She really hates snobbish people, especially Adrienne Van Leydon.
Like most of the hardcore tomboys, she likes more boyish stuff (such as skateboarding, fighting, studying karate, playing video games and jamming to her rock music), but hates more girly stuff (except for ballet).
She would rather do boyish sports (especially wrestling).
She loves rock music (especially heavy metal and punk rock music), and jamming out with her electric guitar. However, she hates classical music (especially the piano).
To fit her toughness and tomboyishness, she wears her most iconic cute outfit, which was very similar to the traditional all-American tomboy of the 1930s-1950s.
Including a light blue dress with puffed sleeves and a red belt, white tight socks and a pair of very shiny black Mary Jane shoes.
She is very headstrong, two-fisted, red-blooded, aggressive and short-tempered. In the second season, her tough and tomboyish personality is getting stronger.
According to the episode, Sugar Coated Spider, she would rather swims in her old-fashioned tomboyish outfit.
Despite her tough, surly and tomboyish personality, she has her softer side.
Bad Qualities
She was extremely angry, when her arch-enemies, Adrienne Van Leydon and the Exterminator trying to kill Itsy, as she began to fight Adrienne and the Exterminator, by kicking and punching with her fist.
Sometimes, she was very... gassy. However, she has a tendency of farting, rather she's farting on every snobbish people, especially Adrienne Van Leydon.
