Lelouch vi Britannia (ルルーシュ・ヴィ・ブリタニア, Rurūshu vui Buritania) is the main protagonist of Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion and Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2, and plays a supporting role in sidestories like Code Geass: Oz the Reflection and Code Geass: Lancelot & Guren. After he was exiled, he used the alias, Lelouch Lamperouge (ルルーシュ・ランペルージ, Rurūshu Ranperūji). He was the Eleventh Prince of the Holy Britannian Empire and the son of the 98th Emperor of Britannia, Charles zi Britannia. He was also the leader and founder of The Black Knights and the real identity of Zero. He is voiced by Jun Fukuyama, while his child self is voiced by Sayaka Ohara. His English dub voice is provided by Johnny Yong Bosch with Michelle Ruff doing Lelouch's child voice.
In the series, Lelouch is a former prince from the superpower Britannia who is given the power of the "Geass" by a witch known as C.C. Using the Geass and his genius-level intellect, Lelouch becomes the leader of the resistance movement known as The Black Knights under his alter ego Zero (ゼロ) to destroy the Holy Britannian Empire, an imperial monarchy that has been conquering various countries under control from his father.
Why He Rocks
As common with Eren Yeager, Guts, Thanos, and other known anti-heroes, Lelouch has done good things and bad things at the same time, which makes him a more complex character.
He is able to control other persons' minds.
Both Jun Fukuyama (Japanese) and Johnny Yong Bosch (English) did a great job voicing him.
Character Development as he becomes more and more extreme - and in some ways, heroic - as the series progresses. He also becomes more openly emotional and less stoic.
Despite some of the actions he's done such as killing Euphemia, his rebellion has its roots in providing a safe and properous future for his youngest sister, his friends and others that are threatened by Britiania's method-of-operation. Thus, his goals are heroic and/or sympathetic and he has standards that he is (initially) unwilling to discard.
