Why She Is Worthy of Being Aang's Successor

  1. She is the perfect, strong and independent female lead.
  2. She was able to pull through the poisoning and trauma Zaheer put her through for years.
  3. Character development: She started as a hot-headed and selfish little girl but turned into a responsible woman who makes use of her duties as Avatar at the end of the series.
  4. She is a skilled fighter and an excellent bender. She was able to master water, fire and earth when she was only three, something Aang wishes he could have been able to do.
  5. She shows pride and compassion for her friends.
  6. She is able to successfully connect with the spirit world, showing that she can keep calm despite her fiery nature.
  7. Once she gained back her memories, she now knows how to keep patient.
  8. She was created to be bisexual, which is uncommon in kids' shows. At one point, she also ends up being the one who got Asami to realize and share her romantic feelings for Korra.
  9. Interestingly enough, not only is she attractive, but she is also a "dude magnet" who got Bolin and his brother, Mako, into being attracted to her. Even the rival Tahno, tried to pick her up with a cheap come-on, by offering to show her how to "bend" (which she tells him to cool it off thankfully).
    • In Book Four, Prince Wu tries to make more pickup lines at her, though she shoots him down every time.
  10. Janet Varney gives an excellent vocal performance.
  11. She can be funny at times.

Bad Qualities

  1. Even though she grew out of it, she can act too hot-headed and cocky for her own good.
  2. She was a bit of a spoiled brat in the first season.
  3. She can be very careless, and not just in battle.
  4. She got herself stuck in a painful love triangle.
  5. She has poor chemistry with Mako, but thankfully she broke up with him.

  • The creators could not find a name that they agreed on that followed the tradition of the Water Tribe names, but when they were staying in an eco-lodge, the owner introduced them to his dog Cora. The creators agreed on the name, and with a spelling tweak, it fit into the established culture.
    • Coincidentally, the actress who provided the voice of four-year-old Korra is also named Cora.
  • On May 10, 2016, a footage of creating Korra in The Sims 4 Create a Sim was uploaded to YouTube. In the footage, the protagonist begins to look more like Korra as the video progresses.
