Kakashi Hatake (はたけカカシ, Hatake Kakashi) is one of the four main protagonists of the anime/manga series Naruto, its sequel Naruto: Shippudenand a minor character in Boruto: Naruto The Next Generations. He is a shinobi of Konohagakure's Hatake clan and a major character in the Naruto series.

Why He Rocksǃ

1. He is very well-designed. His apperance gives off the deadly ninja vibe.
2. He is one of the most powerful characters in the series.
3. His fights are epic and great to watch. Some of his most notable fights include his fight against Obito and his fight against Zabuza.
4. He is a great mentor for Naruto, teaching him valuable aspects such as teamwork and loyalty. He also taught Naruto several moves, such as tree climbing.
5. His powers are very awesome and iconic. Some of them include the Lightning Blade, the Susanoo, Kamui and Thousand Years of Death.
6. He is one of the most powerful and popular characters in the Naruto series
7. Despite him not being a Uchiha, he managed to get the Sharingan. We later found out that he got it from Obito as a present before his death.
8. He is very friendly and laid-back.
9. He is very likable.
10. He got Inari to realize that Naruto wasn't a bad person.
11. He was one of the few people who found out about Itachi's identity when he visited the Hidden Leaf Village after the Konoha Crush.
12. Kakashi was extremely talented at a young age. He managed to get the highest scores in his class. He even earned the top grades in his class when he was a toddler.
13. He also became ANBU after both of his friends were killed.
14. Due to him being extremely powerful and talented, he later became the 6th Hokage.
15. While we don't see him much in Boruto, it is always exciting whenever he does show up.
16. Even after losing his Sharingan, he is still very powerful. One of them being Kakashi's Story (excellent book), where he helped rescue everybody trapped on a flying boat.
17. His obsession with naughty R-rated books is extremely funny.
18. During the Konoha Crush, he helped defend his village from Orochimaru and the Sand and gave Naruto, Sakura, Shikamaru and Shino a mission to pursuit Gaara.
19. He managed to deliver the final blow to Kakuzu after Naruto hit him with his Rasen-Shuriken.
20. During the 5 Kage Summit, when Tobi attacked Naruto, he alongside Yamato captured him and made him spill his secrets about Itachi.
21. During the Kawaki arc, he (spoiler alert) fought Koji.

Bad Qualities

1. He can be unlikable at times, like in the first bell test, where he acted more like a villain. Although that was the point and was necessary enough to see if Naruto, Sakura, and Sasuke to be worthy enough to be his students.
2. After he joined ANBU, he became darker and emo.
3. He was very strict before he met Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura. He failed all of his previous students.
4. While not as much as Naruto when he was a kid, Kakashi has become much more childish in Boruto. But he does retain most of his likable charm, and it's actually pretty refreshing to see Kakashi become more open and laid-back, especially because of all the trauma he had to endure throughout his life.

Trivia

• The name "Kakashi" means "scarecrow" (案山子) and his family name "Hatake" means "farmland/field" (畑), so his name means "scarecrow in the farmland" (畑案山子).
• Kakashi placed in the top three of all the Naruto Character Popularity Polls.
• In the Live Spectacle Naruto, the role of Kakashi was played by Yūki Kimisawa.
• Studio Pierrot's Settei sheets of Kakashi show that he was: 124 cm when joining the Academy, 140 cm in Naruto Shippūden the Movie: The Lost Tower, 148 cm during Kakashi Gaiden, and 168 cm during the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox's Attack.

  • Kakashi's favourite word is "Team-work" (チームワーク, Chīmuwāku).
• Kakashi's nickname "…of the Sharingan" (写輪眼の…, Sharingan no…) is also held by Itachi and Sasuke Uchiha.
• According to Naruto Shippūden the Movie: The Lost Tower, at age 10, Kakashi's stats was shown to be: Ninjutsu: 3, Taijutsu: 3, Genjutsu: 2, Intelligence: 4, Strength: 1.5, Speed: 3.5, Stamina: 2, Hand Seals: 3.5, which is totaled to 22.5. It also showed that he completed 140 missions at that time: 48 D-rank, 21 C-rank, 63 B-rank, 8 A-rank, and 0 S-rank.
• According to Rock Lee's Springtime of Youth Full Power Ninja Chronicles, the reason why Kakashi wears a mask is to hide the blood coming out of his nose whenever he reads his Icha Icha book. This is typically a running gag, where certain perverted characters like Jiraiya (when seeing beautiful women naked or in lingerie) and Sakura (upon seeing naked men) suffer a nosebleed and fall unconscious, reminiscent of an "old wives' tale".
• Kakashi has at least two Extreme: Shinobi Picture Scrolls cards, one of which is limited edition and the other which is also rare.
