Jiraiya (自来也) was one of Konohagakure's Sannin.

Why He Is The Legendary Sannin

1. He is one of the funniest characters in the entire series despite him being extremely powerful.
2. He helped 3 rain orphans survive, those being Nagato, Yahiko and Konan. He later taught them.
3. He taught Naruto many important techniques, like the Rasengan, walking on water, summoning, etc.
4. He helped remove the cursed seal from Naruto that blocked his chakra.
5. Like Roshi, he does have tons of perverted actions, and it is mostly played for laughs.
6. Also, he has a very strong father-son relationship with Naruto himself.
7. While he is rather old, he still has an awesome design.
8. He helped defend Konoha from Orochimaru's invasion.
9. Later on, he helped Naruto and Sasuke defeat Itachi and Kisame.
10. Even when he was drugged up, he still managed to be strong.
11. He helped Naruto become stronger in only 3 years. Even though a lot of training was restricted and limited due to the Nine-Tails inside of Naruto.
12. He suppressed the Nine-Tails inside Naruto, so it wouldn't break out again.
13. He tried to find out the mystery behind the Akatsuki leader Pain, though he killed him in the process.

Bad Qualities

1. While he did help the rain orphans survive, they later formed Akatsuki and became one of the most feared groups in the series. Not to mention, they even killed him.
2. While his perverted actions are funny, it can be a bit crude and offensive at times.
3. His training prevented Naruto from becoming a Chunin.
4. His death was unexpected, and it was very sad.
