Jenny Silverback is the titular character of the 2003 Cartoon Monsoon pilot Gorilla Girl by Darin McGowan. She was voiced by Grey DeLisle.
Why She's A Gorilla
- Grey DeLisle did a great job voicing her.
- She has a unique and cartoony design.
- She is likable to her parents and her animal friends, particularly Kevin.
- She is an example of a Tarzan expy done right. She even has her own gorilla yell.
- She is able to trick Rafferty and Renee into capturing her and beat them up when they call her a girl. She later freed animals that were kept by the hunters.
- She undergoes character development by freeing her parents and eating a salad. In the beginning, she ate bugs and didn't like salads and cupcakes.
- She can climb onto walls like an actual gorilla. She can also swing on vines.
Bad Qualities
- She can get frustrated easily when she is called a gorilla and not a girl.
- She is obscure, despite her likability.
- When she said to Kevin “You're so not keeping that dress”, her voice sounded a little too similar to Mandy.
Trivia
- The Pilot almost became a show on Kids WB.
- Jenny Silverback was originally a boy.
