Itsuki Nakano (Nakano Itsuki) is one of the main characters in the manga and anime series, The Quintessential Quintuplets. She is the youngest daughter and the fifth sister of the Nakano Quintuplets, along with Ichika, Nino, Miku, and Yotsuba. She is attributed as the "first girl" of the series.

Good Qualities

1. Itsuki is known for being the first quintuplet that Fuutarou Uesugi encounters, and the two have a complicated relationship throughout the series. She is also the only one out of the five sisters who doesn't show any romantic feelings for Fuutarou, developing more of a Vitriolic Best Buds dynamic with him.
2. Itsuki shares the strongest platonic relationship with Fuutarou, seeing as both of them bicker constantly while also having a genuinely tight friendship given what they both undertake together.
3. Itsuki is portrayed as an intelligent and confident student, but also a bit stubborn and headstrong at times.
4. Itsuki is commended as a diligent girl, and she does things very precisely. She is also perceptive and has a good sense of detail.
5. She is very passionate about food and aspires to become a food-related professional in the future.
6. She always speaks in polite forms, adding to her strait-laced demeanor. This seems to be an aspect of trying to act more like their mother after her death.
7. She is very close to her sisters and takes on a protective role towards them, especially when it comes to their father's expectations for their academic success.
8. She is good at keeping secrets, as she knows just how bad Fuutarou's financial situation is. At his request, she promises not to tell her sisters. She is the only one who knows that Yotsuba is the photo girl.
9. She is the closest with Nino, as both are seen doing activities together, such as shopping, lunch, and test of courage. Nino is also very protective towards Itsuki, being the most vocal sister regarding her well being. While the two seem to get along with each other due to their similar personalities, they also quarrel harshly when they disagree on something.
   • When Nino goes too far in refusing to study, without any care for all the hard work Fuutarou is doing for them, Itsuki slaps her and demands that she apologizes, resulting in Nino slapping her back and the two running away from home.
10. Itsuki is the first to learn of Yotsuba's past with Fuutarou, and is asked to disguise herself as Yotsuba from 5 years ago. While Itsuki believes that Yotsuba deserves a chance with Fuutarou, Yotsuba refutes it, feeling undeserving of it and wanting to not be the only one who is "special" to him.

Bad Qualities

1. She sometimes tends to be a crybaby, whether it's due to unfavorable situations, scary things, or her stubborn self.
2. She is more dense compared to Fuutarou, taking her until the Scrambled Eggs arc to know that Miku is in love with Fuutarou, from Miku herself. She also did not realize that Ichika and Nino were in love with him either, until Fuutarou told her this himself. This is best shown in Chapter 91 when she is still somehow unaware of Ichika's feelings towards Fuutarou, despite the drama during the Kyoto trip.
3. She never considers that she might have romantic feelings of her own until Fuutarou openly chooses Yotsuba as the girl he loves, prompting enough jealousy that Itsuki is forced to accept that she loved him too, even if a romantic relationship is no longer possible.
4. Itsuki was very underutilized in the end, for one that she was the only one of the sisters to have not kissed Fuutarou during the festival arc, which goes against the idea that any one of the sisters can be the bride. Many also felt that Fuutarou ending up in an argument with Itsuki rather than giving a heartwarming speech towards her, as he did with the other sisters, was unfair towards Itsuki, especially on top of aforementioned moment above, despite the fact that she has received far less characterization, specifically her interaction with Fuutarou, than most of the other sisters.

Trivia

• Itsuki is seen wearing glasses when she's about to do a test (Chapter 2), suggesting she has hyperopia (far-sightedness). In Chapter 3 with Fuutarou Uesugi, he remarks that Itsuki can't see far away, suggesting she has myopia (near-sightedness). Despite sharing eye problems with Nino Nakano, only Itsuki wears glasses.
• She and Nino seem to be the most similar to each other among the quintuplets (both of them do sit-ups in the morning, have long hair, poor eyesight, a fear of needles, and a tsundere-like personality, being initially harsh to Fuutarou). Both of them are also close to each other and often seen hanging out, and Nino is very vocal and protective regarding Itsuki.
• Itsuki's notable accessories are two stars on the front of her hair, representing number 5, which is a part of her name and the order of her birth.
• Itsuki won 3rd place on the Japanese popularity poll with 1235 votes.
• Itsuki, alongside her sisters have the same three sizes: B88-W50-H159.
