Hi, Phineas. Whatcha doin'?” ―Isabella to Phineas

Isabella Garcia-Shapiro is a sweet and very cute little black-haired 7-year-old girl and a major character from Disney’s popular animated TV series Phineas and Ferb. Created by Jeff "Swampy" Marsh & Dan Povenmire, she has a crush on Phineas, and lives next door to him, though he never notices her crush on him, while she does spend her days participating or helping with his or Ferb’s projects. She also spends her time trying to earn Fireside Girl patches, and she is also great friends with the members of her troop in the Fireside Girls Troop 46231. She is voiced by Alyson Stoner.

Why She Is a Helpful Girl Who Knows What Her Friends Are “What’cha doin’”

    1. She is a very cute character, especially for Phineas and Ferb standards.
    2. She is friendly and sweet to others, mainly Phineas.
    3. She is cheerful, fearless, quick-thinking, optimistic, caring, kind, and easy to get along with others.
    4. She is a good love interest to Phineas, mainly as she is always willing to help him with his daily projects, and, furthermore, their relationship is heartwarming and adorable, especially with her crush on him, even if Phineas sometimes doesn't see it.
    5. Her famous, endearing, surprisingly funny, and iconic quote: “What’cha doin’?”, which is one of the show's greatest running gags, and is funny to most people.
    6. She's a great leader, as she is Troop Leader of the Fireside Girls 46231, and she never gives up.
    7. Excellent voice acting by the lovely actress Alyson Stoner, who only makes her voice more adorable.
    8. She has a very beautiful singing voice, especially considering her voice actress can sing too, such as when she sings “City of Love”, “Whatcha Doin’?” (named after her catchphrase), and, of course, “If We Could Just Be Alone”.
    9. She aids people who are in need of help.
    10. She has a competitive demeanor, when it comes to sports.
    11. Besides being optimistic, she does show concern for others, especially in serious situations.
    12. She even starred in three of her own episodes on the same show. You don't believe the article? Watch the show for yourself.
    13. She is a little girl with a big heart.
    14. Phineas and Ferb would never be the same without this cute character, and it probably wouldn't be as great either.
    15. Her rivalry with Doofenshmirtz over leadership in the movie "Candace Against the Universe" is absolutely hilarious.
      • Speaking of Candace Against the Universe, she is still a likable character therein and Across the 2nd Dimension.
    16. Although she is the leader of her Fireside Girls troop, she is never too bossy with the Fireside Girls, but rather treats them with respect and like friends.
    17. She slapped both Baljeet and Buford to get them out of the bored trance (This was not for no reason as she need something to get them to help find the solution).
    18. She doesn't express as much anger as other Phineas and Ferb characters, even if she has had her fair share of angry moments. When she does, it gets hilarious.
    19. Her alternative counterpart in the Star Wars episode was pretty awesome, especially with her counterpart's tough personality.
    20. She is brave for a girl her age.
    21. In "Summer Belongs to You!", she snapped Phineas out of his despondent state when she realizes that they've been stuck on the island long enough and reminds him of the things he built. However, it wasn't until she mentioned that Phineas showed them on Ferb’s map how it was possible that he finally snapped out of it.

    Bad Qualities

    1. Despite being a major character in Phineas and Ferb, she was only given less than a minute of screen time in the Milo Murphy's Law crossover special "The Phineas and Ferb Effect". She was going to have a major role, but, disappointingly enough, she did not. It's not entirely bad, but her smaller role left many fans of the character upset and disappointed, hoping she could appear more often. Worse enough, the writers had the excuse to cut out most of her scenes all because of timing. Even so, she is still likable in the episode. Luckily, her role in "Candace Against the Universe" did make up for it.
    2. Even though her quote "Whatcha doin'?" is adorable and memorable, it can be a bit overused for some.

    Trivia

    • She is named after her creator Dan Povenmire’s oldest daughter who loves the show and that the former is named after her.
    • In some later episodes (starting with "She’s the Mayor"), when she says “What’cha doin’?”, her voice is higher-pitched, although her original voice is used in some episodes.
    • She is usually brave but can be frightened in some episodes.
