    Reason: Adult content

    Ibuki Mioda
    "Good nom-nom-nomming!"
    Gender: Female
    Type: Goofy Musician
    Age: Early twenties
    Species: Human
    Status: Alive
Media of origin: Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair

Ibuki Mioda is a student of Hope's Peak Academy's Class 77-B, and a participant of the Killing School Trip featured in Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair. Her title is Ultimate Musician.

Why She Rocks (pun completely intended)

    1. She's very cheerful and hyperactive to the point where she makes any scene starring her much more lively. The word "boring" doesn't even apply to her.
    2. She has a unique and creative character design, making her truly stand out from other characters.
    3. She has a great sense of hearing, as shown in the first Class Trial, where it serves to help her identify Teruteru as the murderer.
    4. What also makes her stand out when compared to the other students is her personality. She's a goofy, wacky, energetic and eccentric rockstar.
    5. She's also very hilarious and her over-the-top acting creates some of the funniest moments in the game.
    6. Her perverted tendencies aside, she's one of the sweetest and kindest students. She even holds events to try and hold the class together!
      • She also performs with Hiyoko and Chiaki at the memorial to honor Mahiru and the other dead students.
      • She even uses her free time events as opportunities to try and help Hajime deal with his identity problems!
    7. As shown by her quote from Goodbye Despair, "Someday...I want to play music with someone who trusts me as much I trust them... That's always been Ibuki's dream. I think believing that dreams come true as long as you believe is the first step toward fulfilling your dreams!", she believes that dreams come true as long as you believe in the first step towards achieving them. Which is a very touching statement.

    Bad Qualities

    1. She, along with the rest of Class 77-B, were brainwashed by Junko Enoshima into becoming the Ultimate Despair.
    2. While a nice girl, she has some perverted tendencies, as mentioned above in WSR#6.
    3. She was strangled by Mikan in Chapter 3 after the Despair Disease caused Mikan to revert to her Ultimate Despair personality.
    4. Her over-the-top acting, while it's normally funny, can come off as rather annoying to some.
    5. It's revealed she used to be part of a band, but it's never revealed why she left or how much of an impact it left on her.

    Trivia

    • The name "Ibuki" (唯吹) means "a sole breath" or "merely breathing". This could be a reference to her demise later in the game by strangulation.
    • Ibuki's last name, "Mioda" (澪田), could be translated as "rice field of the waterway".
      • Each kanji on her name is directly taken from the 4 protagonists of K-On!.
      • She also shares the same birthday with the main character of K-On!, Yui Hirasawa, which is November 27th.
    • There are currently two known songs from Ibuki's solo repertoire: "From Me to You Too" and "I Squeezed Out the Baby, but I Have No Idea Who the Father Is"; the former of which she performs in the beginning of chapter 3.
    • In the "Free Time Events", Ibuki infers that she is asexual, although interested in strictly romantic relationships with both men and women, making her a biromantic or possibly panromantic asexual.
    • While Ibuki's title in the official English translation is the Ultimate Musician, her original title, Super High School Level Light Music Club Member is actually much more specific. "Light music" is a very common after school club activity available in many high schools across Japan. Not to be confused with the music genre known as "light music" whose origins are in late 19th century Britain, the Japanese "light music" (or 軽音楽 "keiongaku") genre is something similar to pop music.
      • Despite her success as a light music performer as proven by her title, Ibuki's original music, some of which she performs in the beginning of Chapter 3, reveals her musical preferences to be much closer to the heavy metal genre.
    • Other characters who also speak in the third-person within the series besides Ibuki are Monaca Towa, Gonta Gokuhara, Angie Yonaga and Tenko Chabashira (the latter two in Japanese only).
