    Helen Parr
"I think you need to be more... flexible."
    Gender: Female
    Type: Flexible Wife
    Age: 38
    Species: Human
    Status: Alive
    Media of origin: The Incredibles

Helen Parr, known professionally as Elastigirl and also known as Mrs. Incredible, is the deuteragonist in the 2004 Pixar Animation Studios film The Incredibles and the protagonist in the 2018 sequel Incredibles 2.

    Why She Is Flexible

    1. In the golden age of superheroism, she is a resourceful and dexterous (quite literally) superhero; an role model for men and especially women.
    2. Prior to marrying Mr. Incredible, Helen seemed to have a strong opinion, stating that she both planned to break the "glass ceiling" (as Supers were a predominantly male profession) and would not settle down, at that time, in her firebrand ways as a married housewife. Life had other plans for her, however, as Mr. Incredible had managed to be so dazzling that she broke down and agreed to marry him. Shortly after their wedding, a chain reaction of events involving lawsuits results in Supers being outlawed by the U.S. government.
    3. Since it became illegal to work as a Super, her goal of becoming a prominent superheroine was made a moot point. Elastigirl then changed to a more traditional role: becoming a housewife and devoting her effort to being a good wife and mother. This is particularly important raising three children while living in witness protection and trying to raise super-children in a normal world.
    4. Helen adjusted skillfully to the anti-Super law by completely renouncing her career as Elastigirl. In the privacy of the Parr residence, however, she still sometimes used her superpowers to aid her in housework and keep her three children under control. Her biggest concern is that since both she and Mr. Incredible were superheroes, their marriage has begat "superkids", and she does not want her children breaking the anti-Super law (whereas her husband takes the stance that the kids need to revel in their very special abilities).
    5. She is an assertive, sassy idol.
    6. Holly Hunter voiced her really well.
    7. Elastigirl's character design (especially when the animation improved many years after the first film) looks nice and all the outfits she wears look cool. Additionally, her hairstyles look pretty.

    Bad Qualities

    1. Despite being the protagonist from Incredibles 2, Bob has more screen time, so he should be the protagonist instead of her.
    2. While her design is nice overall, she does have wide hips, beefy thighs, and a large bum, which may be too much for a movie meant to be kid-friendly.
    3. The scene in the first film where she checks her butt on a mirror may be inappropriate for kids.
    4. Like her husband, Helen can lose her temper pretty easily.

    Trivia

    • Helen is the fourth female protagonist in a Pixar movie, after Merida in BraveJoy in Inside Out, and Dory in Finding Dory.
