Greninja is a character from the Pokémon series. It is a combination Water/Dark-Type Pokémon, and is the final evolved form of the starter Froakie, first appearing in Pokemon: X and Y, and a lot of games after that. It is one of the playable Pokémon in the Super Smash Bros. series since Smash 4, and is one of Ash’s Pokémon in the anime.

Why It Rocks

1. Like many of the other iconic fully evolved starters, Greninja is an iconic fan favorite amongst fans of Pokémon and/or Nintendo as a whole. Most notably how cool it looks, and how amazing it is when it uses its iconic Water Shuriken and Night Slash attacks.
2. Out of all the Nintendo characters that look cool, Greninja is one of the coolest characters of them all.
3. Greninja essentially became the recognisable character in the Pokémon XY anime, and in the Pokémon franchise as a whole.
4. It is always one of the best part in the Pokémon anime series, having many awesome moments.
5. Its designs is so good to look at, especially its design in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and it’s one of the coolest designs of a final evolution starter.
6. Speaking of designs, it’s Ash-Greninja design is also pretty good.
7. It’s English and Japanese voice actors do a great job voicing it.
8. There is a special ability only certain Greninja can have, to transform into Ash-Greninja, which is first seen in the anime with Ash’s Greninja.
9. In the 121st episode of the XY anime, it and Ash have mastered the Ash-Greninja form to save a Spewpa. It and Ash then make up and promise to start working together as a team.
10. The friendship between it and Ash is really strong and awesome, especially whenever they communicated through the Ash-Greninja form, which shows how great their bond really is.
11. Ash's Greninja has helped him many times, it also helped against the Team Flare battle, and was one of the many Pokémon who stood up to defeat Lysandre, and save Kalos and the world.
12. It has spawned a lot of material such as memes and toys.

14. It’s appeared in the Super Smash Bros. series since Smash 4, which is awesome.
    • It’s final smash in Ultimate has it transform into Ash-Greninja, which is very unique and cool.
15. Since it’s part Dark type, it has an immunity, being Psychic, making it easier for Greninja to face those kinds of Pokémon.

The Only Bad Quality

1. The Greninja Ash owns was unfortunately released in the anime’s worst episode ever, Facing the Needs of the Many!, and it wasn’t even a good goodbye, it was rather sad.
   • And to add insult in injury, obviously excluding Team Flare (and after easily defeating Alain’s Bisharp), it lost in its final official battle against Alain’s Mega Charizard X, even as the mastered Ash-Greninja (despite the battle being awesome and entertaining).

Trivia

• Ash-Greninja has the highest base stat total of all fully evolved starter Pokémon.
• Greninja shares its category with Ninjask. They are both known as the Ninja Pokémon.
