Glimmer is the tritagonist of She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, current Queen of the Bright Moon, and co-leader of The Rebellion.
Why She's Our Glimmer
- A better contrast to her 1980s counterpart, as she has more depth and is a much more believable character.
- Her character design is much better than her 1980s counterpart, where, unlike having everyone basically being from the "same mold" (basically them all having the same body proportions with their hair colors and clothing styles being pretty much the only thing keeping them from looking the absolute same), she's a short, big-boned girl. It's much more realistic than the completely skinny Amazonian figure her 1980s counterpart had.
- Season 5 has her build a really cute relationship with Bow.
- She has the power to teleport, a really useful and strong ability to have in battle.
- She is a reckless, impulsive, stubborn girl who is traumatized when her mother dies at the end of season 3, and even after she becomes more selfish and unfriendly in season 4, she still meant well, even in her worst moments.
- Character Development: Following Queen Angella's sacrifice, she matures significantly, and to go with that she has a brand new character design that is less childish and shows that Glimmer is absolutely an adult now. And also, she had to take up the roll of being Queen of Bright Moon from then on. meaning she's now in an even bigger position of power!
- By the end of season 4, she realizes the error of her ways and reverts back to her usual, fun-loving, good-natured self.
- She's always willing to give people a second chance, even those who have continuously wronged her. The best example of this is Shadow Weaver, who betrayed her father and led the Horde for quite some time, and ends up becoming a mentor to her despite the fact she's still kind of evil and not exactly "redeemed".
Bad Qualities
- Season 4 has her, through a combination of factors, such as her mother's sacrifice, being put in charge of Bright Moon, her increasing resentment of Adora, and Shadow Weaver's influence, become increasingly bad-tempered and hostile to everyone, even getting to the point where she ends up blaming Adora for her mother's sacrifice and using the Heart of Etheria to fight the Horde. Luckily, by the end, she reverts back to her usual self.
- Her stubborn behavior has both good and bad consequences. She starts to go against the decisions of Bow and Adora, who also don't really listen to her, and while it's great that she is stubborn enough to know what's best for Bright Moon, she also activated the Heart of Etheria because of miscommunication.
- Her, design, while still good, can still change in shape depending on what she's wearing.
Trivia
- During an interview with the She-Ra: Progressive of Power podcast, Noelle Stevenson said that Glimmer's DnD class would be a sorceress.
- Also, she voiced by Karen Fukuhara in animated television series Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts.
- Glimmer's astrological sign is Sagittarius, also known as the "archer".
- When asked, "Which princess do you think has the best powers and why?", Stevenson responded that Glimmer powers' were, as they were not only cool but useful as well.
- Marcus Scribner also agreed that Glimmer's powers were useful.
- She wears Angella's earrings in seasons Four and Five, later in Adora's future, she gives one to Bow.
