Finn the Human and Jake the Dog are the two main protagonists of the Cartoon Network series Adventure Time. Finn and Jake are heroes of the Land of Ooo who made their debut in the 2007 short Adventure Time. After saying goodbye to Joshua, Margaret, Jermaine and Tiffany, Finn then asks to be brought back into a new life while Jake decides to remain in the 50th dead world. However, Jake changes his mind and then joins him in reincarnation, finding themselves together again.

Why They're Adventurous

1. The two starred in the most influential Cartoon Network show, somehow saving the entire channel from the incredibly deep rut it was in the late 2000s.
2. Their iconic simple character designs, which work to their advantage of moving more fluidly, loosely, and expressively, especially Jake with his unlimited shapeshifting abilities.
3. As housemates, (adoptive) brothers and best friends, Finn and Jake share an incredibly strong bond.
4. Having been raised together by Jake's parents, the duo share a relationship similar to that of siblings, with Jake acting as Finn's older brother.
5. The two have saved each other's lives on several occasions, and often adventure throughout the Land of Ooo together.
6. They bounce off each other greatly, while Finn is a outgoing, adventurous boy, while Jake is more laid-back and wise.
7. The two both excel in musical talent with Finn singing numerous songs in the show and Jake singing "Makin' Bacon Pancakes".
8. The two share the best lines (as well as chemistry) in the entire show, often showing unconditional brotherly love by being there for one another.
9. Finn is a decent swordsman since he fights with a sword in numerous episodes (only ones where he is seen using it).

Bad Qualities

1. Jake sometimes leads Finn down the wrong path.
2. There are some occasions where they fight with each other. 
3. Though they have an unconditional love for each other, Finn can get frustrated with Jake because of his laziness and lack of motivation.

Finn

• Finn's name was derived either from Old Norse "Finnr", which means "Sami" or "Finnish person", or from Irish "Fionn", which means "fair-headed", "white" or "blond".

Jake

• Jake is a bulldog. Therefore, his family and very likely the dog pictured with Bob are the same breed.
