    Type: Dragon Lady
    Age: 18
    Species: Dragon

Media of origin: Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid

Elma (エルマ Eruma), also known as Elma Joui (上井 エルマ Jōī Eruma) as her human alias, is the fifth dragon to be introduced in Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid.

    Why She Rocks

    1. Elma's design is really pretty; especially in human form
      • This also goes for her work form too where she doesn't have her horn displayed (Similar to that Kanna Kamui doesn't have her horns in school form)
      • Her dragon form is also cool, as she is a harmony-aligned dragon.
    2. She is known for her famous rivalry with Tohru.
      • Coincidentally, water is the opposite of fire.
      • Her fight with Toru was not only awesome, it was sad where Elma admits how much she missed Tohru and just wanted to be friends with her again.
      • For all of their bickering and fighting, Elma and Tohru do show signs of genuine affection for each other.
    3. Elma is also known for her vast love for sweets (Similar to Stocking)
    4. Despite being enemies with Tohru, she still gets along with Kobayashi as the series progresses
    5. Elma does have some funny moments; most notably when she tries to decide which thing she should pick regardless at home or work
    6. There's a reason she quarrels with Tohru for most of the series is because they were close friends before Tohru disappeared without even telling her. Tohru used to disdain human contact and went through great lengths to convince Elma to distrust humans; Elma found it very hypocritical of her when she found out that Tohru was openly living with a human as if nothing had happened. As such, Elma is offended at the fact that Tohru practically abandoned her.
    7. When Elma challenges Tohru to a fight. The two spend most of it barely holding back and shattering the landscape around them, all while also having an intense verbal argument. At the end, Elma breaks down and admits that she's missed being friends with Tohru, and that she was scared thinking Tohru had been killed prior to becoming a maid. Tohru is completely taken aback by this, and decides to reconcile with Elma.

    Bad Qualities

    1. Elma can be quite arrogant at times.
    2. She's known to be easily manipulated by other people, mostly Tohru.
    3. While she is incredibly smart and capable of memorizing books and putting the knowledge gained to use with ease, she doesn't really understand humanity and constantly makes minor faux pas when around people.

    Trivia

    • Elma is the only dragon of the main cast who lives on her own in the human world.
    • Elma is attractive enough to make other women doubt about her sexuality as shown in Elma Chapter 30.
    • She is ticklish on the soles of her bare feet.
