Dora Márquez is the main character and hostess of the Dora the Explorer franchise. She is a heroic Latina girl who embarks on countless adventures in every episode in order to find something or help somebody in need.

1. Dora is a very cute protagonist.
2. She is a very fun and adventurous explorer.
3. She is very friendly to everyone she sees, even to Swiper, as she doesn’t hold a grudge against him despite being a sneaky fox.
4. She has a good and believable friendship with Boots, and they are always there for each other.
5. She has many other good friends as well, like Backpack, Map, Benny, Isa, Tico, etc.
6. She has a good bond with her family, which are her parents, her grandmother, her cousin Diego, etc.
7. She’s the first big bilingual children's cartoon character, as she teaches us how to speak Spanish.
8. She’s always positive when it comes to situations during adventures, and always looks on the bright side when it comes to solving it.
9. She provides great amounts of interactions for the viewer, as the show relies a lot on fourth wall breaking when Dora needs to find a particular object or a part of the environment.
10. Kathleen Herles did a great job voicing her.
    • Caitlin Sanchez and Fátima Ptacek (although, in later seasons) also did a good job voicing her.
11. Even after she got flanderized after season 4, she did redeem herself in Dora and the Lost City of Gold, and got character development there, that makes her even more lovable than in the first 4 seasons of the show.

Malas Cualidades (Bad Qualities)

1. She was flanderized during seasons 5-8. But she did redeem herself in the movie, as mentioned above.
2. Even before she was flanderized, her constant fourth wall breaking can be considered annoying by older kids and adults, since she often stays silent for several seconds in order to leave time to the kid viewer to reply.
3. She can be a Mary Sue at times.
4. On some occasions, her personality may disappear.
