Daxter is the secondary protagonist of Jak and Daxter video game series. He was voiced by Max Casella.

    Why He's Orange Lightning

    1. He is a memorable and very funny video game sidekick. He inspired some traits of Clank from Ratchet & Clank. He was originally a human who got touched by Dark Eco and became an Ottsel. It was revealed that he was blessed instead of cursed.
    2. Whenever Jak dies in The Precursor Legacy and 3, he makes hilarious comments towards Jak such as “Say good night, Jak” or “I'm glad I'm not your stunt double”.
    3. He had his own spin-off game for the PlayStation Portable in 2006 and it was pretty good. It helped show how Daxter was able to rescue Jak after they first arrived at Haven City. He had some fun minigames for dream sequences based on movies like The Matrix, Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring.
    4. After yapping about pants in the first two games, he finally gets a pair of pants in the end of 3. Since then, he wears pants.
    5. He had good chemistry with Jak and his love interest Tess. Tess later fell in love with him and eventually became an Ottsel.
    6. He provides well needed levity after tense moments from Jak, especially when he turns into Dark Jak.

    Bad Qualities

    1. He was somewhat flanderized in The Lost Frontier and became Dark Daxter.
    2. Daxter can be a little annoying. His voice could get on peoples’ nerves.
    3. His humor can be a little jarring in II and 3.
    4. He doesn't make any quotes for Game Over sequences for II.

    • Daxter appears as a DLC character for Pain.
    • Max Casella reprised his role in PlayStation crossover games and Jak and Daxter commercials.
