Daigo Kiryu (桐生 ダイゴ Kiryū Daigo) is the red ranger and leader of the 37th Super Sentai team, Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger.
Why He Rocks
- Is a stellar dancer, which he shows off whenever he's about to henshin.
- Earned his position as leader of the Kyoryugers.
- Is an easygoing, strong, excitable, surprisingly insightful, and very optimistic person, making him an incredibly endearing character.
- His awkwardness and anti-social behavior is given an explanation within the show, that being that he was raised alone by his father and spent most of his childhood traveling the world with him, leaving him little time to socialize with others. Doesn't stop him from being a great and inspiring leader to his teammates.
- His lighthearted and energetic nature is what makes him really awesome, though it doesn't stop him from being serious when the situation calls for it.
- Despite supposedly being stupid, he frequently wins battles through a skill few other Sentai teams possess, the skill of "common sense", such as when he shot a monster that disguised itself as a baby.
- His roll call is great and super showy.
- His Carnival form is awesome.
- Was kicked out of the Kyoryugers by Tessai/Kyoryu Gray I. The reason? He was already so great he couldn't get any greater.
- For older female fans or fangirls, here's a shot of Daigo without his shirt on.
- Showed up in both Super Hero Taisen Z and Kamen Rider Taisen to kick ass.
- In the latter, he was the only member of his team to appear, and showed up to help his bros for justice the Kamen Riders stop the evil empire of Badan. He also held off the Great Leader of Badan, the BIG BAD of the entire Kamen Rider series, while the Kamen Riders thwarted his evil plan.
- Also fought Demon King Psycho and Shadow Moon, two Big Bads from Metal Heroes and Kamen Rider BLACK respectively, alongside his team.
- Even though he had at least three women interested in him (Amy, Yayoi and Meeko) he put his duty as a Kyoryuger first and didn't start dating until the world was saved and the Deboth Army was defeated.
