Carlos Ramón is a Latin-American 12-year-old student in Ms. Frizzle's class at Walkerville Elementary. He is part of the "modern eight" students along with Arnold, Dorothy Ann, Jyoti, Keesha, Ralphie, Tim, and Wanda.
Why He Rocks
- His puns are extremely and educationally funny, especially when his voice gets deeper in the third and fourth seasons.
- His catchphrase called out by many students CARLOS!, is very entertaining. This is also the reason why he and his catchphrase spawned into an internet meme.
- Passable character design. Especially in the Rides Again series.
- The idea of a Hispanic American character in a kids franchise who tells jokes is very good.
- He is also a sign of Entertain (a part of the P.I.E.)
- His relationships with D.A., Wanda, and Keesha are awesome in a few both the 1994 series and the 2017 series.
- He and Ralphie make jokes.
- He is one of these unforgettable characters of the series franchise.
- Daniel DeSanto did a great job voicing him.
The Only Bad Quality
- He is easy to get angered or annoyed with when telling jokes.
Trivia
- Although he makes a lot of puns, there are some episodes in which he doesn't make puns, like "Kids in Space", "Revving Up", or "In the Arctic".
- He, like Arnold, is also a "girl magnet". He has shown to have a crush on Dorothy Ann (the most famous ship) in "Blows Its Top" and "Gets Ready, Set, Dough", with Wanda in "Carlos Gets the Sneezes", and with Keesha in "In the Zone".
- He has arachnophobia (meaning he has a fear of spiders) as seen in the third episode of season 3 of The Magic School Bus "Spins a Web".
