Caeda is a playable character that appears in the Archanea saga of Fire Emblem. The daughter of king Mostyn and childhood friend of Marth, she was only 10 years old before the events of Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light during the moment where she was exploring the streets of Knorda. She chanced upon a local arena where she bore witness to Ogma being whipped for having aided in the escape of his fellow gladiator Samuel. Midway through Ogma's torment, Caeda embraced his back and used her body as a shield to prevent the tormentors from continuing to mete out Ogma's punishment. Shortly after her act of heroism, she purchased Ogma from the arena owner and appointed him as one of her personal bodyguards, granting him the opportunity to escape from his wretched life as a gladiator. During the Shadow Dragon game, Caeda grew up and makes her first appearance as she asks Marth to eradicating a group of Galder Pirates besieging the castle. As Marth succeed in fulfilling her request, she joins his army and proves to be instrumental in recruiting several characters to Marth's cause, including Castor, Navarre, Roger, Jake and Lorenz.

    Why She Rocks

    1. She's easily a kind, patient, and a forgiving woman as portrayed throughout her interactions with various characters. These traits of Caeda's are ones that extend towards her being able to overlook a given person's past and grant them chances to make repatriations like with Ogma.
    2. Every time a situation is needed for Caeda to be serious, she would risk her safety yet she does this in a battlefield in order to seek reinforcements to turn the tide of battle in her favor (like when she escapes her home castle in Talyas during pirate invasion).
    3. Believe it or not, she does have battlefield tactics which consist of being extremely perceptive and possess a sharp memory.
    4. Since young age, she's a valuable asset both on and off the battlefield. You see, she is able to talk to men with the hardest of hears like Navarre just by convincing him to join Marth's army.
    5. She has also been shown to be quite politically adept as shown in her recruit conversation with Lorenz.
    6. While she does not often employ it, she can effectively utilize her charm and beauty to sway enemies into joining Marth's army.
    7. She's cute. What else is there to say? But just don't let a face like hers fool you during battle. Ok?
    8. Out of all the characters presented in her home world, she shares a close bond with Marth to the point that it blossoms into a passionate love. She's so protective to Marth as she does care for him. To talk about the topic of her relationship with Marth, she believes in love.
      • In the end of Mystery of the Emblem, she marries Marth.
    9. Reaching level 40 in Heroes in her regular alt, she does admit that she does felt weak as if she wanted protection from others. However, she did learn that strength comes from her belief in her allies. So you see, that is character development and she's not a damsel in distress and all she has to do is do her part and learn each and every day.
    10. Being a side character who is the love interest of the main character, her role is more expanded in the manga adaptation of Shadow Dragon.
    11. As mentioned before, she is responsible for recruiting various other characters.

    Bad Qualities

    1. She may be likeable, but sometimes she does feel weak as mentioned.
    2. She was flanderized in the Fire Emblem OVA mini-series where she is portrayed as a complete tsundere.

    Trivia

    • Caeda's Japanese name, Sheeda (シーダ), is ostensibly derived from the Persian name Sheida (‎شيدا) meaning "infatuation", the meaning of which contextualizes itself with relation to Caeda being Marth's love interest.
    • Her localized name, Caeda, is an alteration of a conjugated form of the Latin word caedo (caedam) meaning to "murder", "strike", or "defeat".
    • As stated in her supports with Marisha, Caeda is not fond of sweet food. Despite this, in Fire Emblem Warriors, she had sweet food with Tiki in their support conversation ostensibly out of courtesy.
    • In Fire Emblem Warriors, Caeda states she is afraid of the dark and cannot sleep without her Pegasus nearby.
    • Like Lucius, Caeda appears using her secondary weapon(swords) instead of her main weapon(Lances) in Fire Emblem Heroes. As such her personal weapon, the Wing Spear was removed and eventually replaced by the Wing Sword which functions similarly to the lance.
    • Caeda's DLC Bride artwork from Fire Emblem Warriors shows her wielding the Wing Spear.
    • Caeda appears as a Sticker in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. In the English version of the game, her name is localized as "Shiida".
