Bill Cipher is the main antagonist of Disney's Gravity Falls. He is a very charismatic dream demon who wants to destroy the world by causing a rift between the Nightmare Realm and the real universe.

Why He's Insane (In a Good Way)

1. He is a hilarious and comedic villain, especially for Disney standards.
2. The running gag where whenever he agrees with anyone finding him insane is pretty funny.
3. His usual voice is great, and even his demonic voice is scary and memorable.
4. His true motives have been shown over time.
5. He has a warped sense of humor.
6. For a bad guy, he is smart, calculative, and formidable.
7. He has noteworthy quotes that are intriguing or have a nice ring with you. Just a few examples are: "Sorry kid, but you're MY puppet now!", "You can't stop me! I'm a being of pure energy with no weakness!", and "For one trillion years I've been trapped in my own decaying dimension, waiting for a new universe to call my own. Name's Bill! But you can call me your new lord and master for all of eternity!".
8. He is affable but obnoxious, but that's a good thing since it's a part of his charm, as fans enjoy his cataclysmic personality.

Bad Qualities

1. Some people can be confused with what Bill's species truly is.
2. Some might find Bill rather scary and frightening.
3. He really didn't get that much screen-time in the show, despite being the main antagonist. He's only appeared in seven episodes of the series. (Not counting as appearing as pictured)

Trivia

• He is based on the Eye of Providence, which is most commonly seen on the back of the American dollar bill.
  • His name is a combination of Bill, referring to the Eye of Providence which appears on dollar bills, and cipher, which is the algorithm for encryption or decryption.
  • He could also be based on the Illuminati as well.
• Bill ignites a blue flame in his hand when, in order to seal a deal, he shakes the hand of the other party.
• In the game Rumble's Revenge, one of the translated cryptograms says "I will be returning to Gravity Falls….," foreshadowing his appearance in "Dreamscaperers." This is also meant to make Bill's position known to the viewer.
