This page is dedicated to Kevin Conroy (1955-2022), who was the original voice for Batman and Hush.
Batman is the main protagonist and playable character of Rocksteady’s Batman: Arkham video game franchise. He was voiced by Kevin Conroy and Roger Craig Smith.
Why He’s Vengeance
- This iteration of Batman is considered to be the best portrayal of Batman made specifically for video games. He has amazing gameplay and tons of side missions.
- Whereas most interpretations of Batman don’t have a sense of finality, this one does as he gives up his career after Scarecrow successfully unmasked him at the end of Knight.
- Kevin Conroy and Roger Craig Smith did outstanding jobs voicing Batman. Smith is a good soundalike for Conroy in Origins and Blackgate.
- He undergoes character development during the games. In Origins, he was a brooding and angst ridden man. In Asylum and City, he is wiser and helps out Robin and Nightwing. In Knight, he is willing to save Gotham from Scarecrow and the Arkham Knight.
- In every game except Asylum, players can replace his outfit with another Batsuit from another era or Batman media including a 1966 Adam West outfit, a Batman Beyond Batsuit and a Knightfall Batsuit.
- The Arkhamverse version of Batman is a neat combination between DCAU Batman with the same voice actor and charm, Nolanverse Batman with the gritty realism and Burtonverse Batman with some levity.
Bad Qualities
- In Origins, he tortured his enemies. Luckily, he grew out of it.
- The ending of Knight is kind of sad but somewhat uplifting, especially if the player finished all the side missions.
Trivia
- Kevin Conroy reprised his role from the DC Animated Universe.
