Astro Boy, as originally known as Mighty Atom, is the titular protagonist of the same name. He is an android created by Dr. Tenma after the death of the scientist's son Tobi.

Why He is A Robot With a Heart of Gold

2. He was designed to not only do heroic things, but to have human emotions.
3. As a robot designed to have multiple emotions, this allows him to be relatable to the audience.
4. He has a variety of weapons in his arsenal, such as his iconic Arm Cannon and Finger Laser.
5. He is quite intelligent and wise beyond his years.
6. His backstory was very heartbreaking but unique, interesting, and well written.
7. He is one of the nicest characters in the series and treats everyone around him with respect.
8. He can be a pacifist when it is necessary, not relying on violence to solve problems.
