    Angel (Buffy the Vampire Slayer)
"Angel Investigations, we help the helpless."
    Gender: Male
    Type: Guilt Ridden Vampire
    Age: Over 120 years
    Species: Vampire
    Portrayed by: David Boreanaz
    Status: Alive
Media of origin: Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel

Angel is a secondary protagonist of the Joss Whedon television series Buffy the Vampire Slayer and titular protagonist of its spinoff series. He was portrayed by David Boreanaz.

    Why He Helps The Helpless

    1. Angel contrasts very well with Buffy. Buffy is a teenage girl who has to go through Hell and high school while Angel is an adult male vampire who seeks penance for his actions.
    2. A Romani tribe gave him a human soul so he would feel remorse for his actions as Angelus.
    3. David Boreanaz did a great job playing Angel.
    4. After leaving Sunnydale, he forms Angel Investigations at Los Angeles. He brought over Cordelia Chase for the team.
    5. He would do anything to stop Wolfram and Hart from corrupting the Earth.
    6. He surprisingly had some funny moments. In the episode Smile Time, he temporarily gets transformed into a puppet.

    Bad Qualities

    1. He is a worse character in his Angelus form. It can be activated if he has a feeling of euphoria or if his soul was removed.
    2. His spin-off series can be a little alienating for female fans of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
    3. He has a huge age difference between him and Buffy despite his youthful appearance.

    Trivia

    • Joss Whedon admitted that Angel is a hard character to create.
