    Age: 16
    Species: Human
    Portrayed by: Janice Kawaye
    Status: Alive
Media of origin: Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi

Ami is the animated counterpart of Ami Onuki. She is a band member of Puffy AmiYumi and one of the main protagonists of the series. She is voiced by Janice Kawaye.

Why She's A "Rhyme" To Us

    1. She's the nicest Puffy AmiYumi member as she's willing to give characters that were mean to her a nice positive meaning.
    2. In Ami's Secret she admits tried to be heartful to Yumi and Kaz by making them an bandversary cake.
    3. Most of her actions in certain episodes are funny like the one in the beginning Ami Goes Bad.
    4. On the episode Ninjacompoop, Ami tries to be gentle to Yumi when Yumi became a ninja and she tries to be soft to her.
    5. She along with her friend Yumi and their manager Kaz can speak in both English and Japanese.
    6. Her design is pretty cute like her appearance with her 1960s themed outfit, especially her go-go boots obviously.
    7. Her voice actress (Janice Kawaye, the voice of Jenny Wakeman/XJ-9 from MLaaTR) is of Japanese descent and is fluent in Japanese. As a result, all of Ami’s Japanese vocabulary is accurate.
    8. In the 2006 game The Genie and the Amp, she and Yumi can be upgraded by eating sushi after finishing a level.

    Bad Qualities

    1. Her behavior in some episodes aren't good, particularly in Collect All 5 where she is obsessed with finding Bunny Huggles.
    2. She can come off as a Mary Sue at times, due to her lacking flaws for the most part.
    3. Though her voice is very cute and adorable, it can be highly annoying sometimes (even when she cries, screams or yells).

    Trivia

    • Janice Kawaye reprised her role in the Cartoon Network PowerPlay game Triple Threat Pinball.
