Allister is one of the many gym leaders in Pokémon Sword and Shield, being exclusive to the Shield version, he's a young and shy yet talented trainer that specializes in ghost-type Pokémon, he's most notable for always wearing a mask in public appearances because of his shyness.
He's voiced by Casey Mongillo in Pokémon: Twilight Wings and Nicole Gose in Pokémon Masters EX.
Why He Rocks
- Allister has in fact, a really interesting looking design that can hopefully catch the eyes of many people.
- Despite his young age, he's really good at Pokémon battles and can always give other trainers like him a challenge.
- While he at first may seem to be evil, he has some good-heart filled inside of him, as he helped Tommy after the later had an argument with John in Pokémon: Twilight Wings.
- His voice provided by Casey Mongillo sounds really fitting for him, considering that he's supposed to be a young kid.
- Nicole Gose's voice, while making him sound rather older than he actually is, is also decent.
- Despite being shy, he also is capable of making friends, most notably Tommy.
- Because of his overall characteristics such as design and personality, he's been popular with the Pokémon fanbase and has earned lots of fanarts.
- While on your road to catching Zamazenta, Shield's exclusive Legendary Pokémon. there's a chance you might see his mask off when he gives you his second league card after helping him
Bad Qualities
- His shyness can be a disadvantage for him at times, such as when he first met Tommy.
- Even though he isn't evil, he's been shown to act questionable at times, such as when he says "Gengar...Gigantamax...Swallow everything in darkness..." during his fight, complete with an angry-like face.

- He's exclusive to the Shield version, as in the Sword version, you fight against Bea.
- His name in Japan is Onion.
- His mask resembles that of the Mario character, Shy Guy.
