SpongeBob SquarePants - A fun-loving sponge who is noted for his optimistic and child-like nature, as well as being popular among kids and adults. As such, he's often considered one of the greatest characters of all time.
Son Goku - A Saiyan from outer space that originally wanted to destroy Earth, but had his memory altered in his youth after a head injury. He's willing to fight the world for peace with his awesome transformations.
Thomas the Tank Engine - The protagonist of the educational TV show of the same name that's quite light-hearted and is mostly friendly towards anyone he interacts with.
Zane - An intelligent robot-ninja hybrid (or Nindroid, for that matter) that often sides with the Ninjago team to fight off many villains, and is an example of a well-written strong powerful male character.
Mickey Mouse - The mascot of Disney that's famous for his characterization as a sympathetic underdog who gets by on pluck and ingenuity and is perhaps the biggest icon in cartoon history.
Saitama - An iconic character who saved a boy from a crab monster and then start training so hard to the point where he can defeat anyone with one punch and lost all his hair.
Ken Kaneki - A character with an upside-down life whose appearance keeps changing.
Makoto Yūki/Kotone Shiomi - A calm mute character.
Stan Marsh - A protagonist that is a reasonable and nice character.
Mario - The main character of the largely successful video game franchise of the same name who is usually portrayed as being a silent yet brave hero, and sports jumping and stomping powers. He also has the ability to gain items such as the Super Mushroom and the Fire Flower, and is often regarded as one of the most iconic video game characters of all time!
Buzz Lightyear - A brave character that spawned his own meme.
Mordecai and Rigby- A Cartoon Network duo who have a habit of slacking off, which usually results in their boss, Benson yelling at them.
Eren Yeager - The protagonist from an action-oriented anime that is noted for not only being the main antagonist of the series, but also the author of the story.
Hiccup - An intelligent dragon trainer that is so smart he can defeat every dragon.
Pikachu - An iconic character in the Pokémon franchise.
Dudley Puppy - A simple minded stupid, but hilarious and badass agent who's a talking dog.
Otis the Cow - A talking cow who had a bad beginning in Barnyard, but showed major redemption in this spin-off series.
SMG4 - A recolored version of Mario that has a tendency to act weird and bizarre, with his role often changing.
Spyro the Dragon - The dragon protagonist of the Spyro franchise.
Batman - A Justice League member who lost both of his parents when he was a kid, but then avenged them by training to the point where he became one of the most iconic DC Comics heroes in history.
Rick Sanchez - A brilliant and psychopathic scientist who has good chemistry with Morty Sanchez, the co-star of Rick and Morty.
Sonic the Hedgehog - A blue hedgehog who, true to his name, has cool superhuman speed, and is often considered one of the biggest icons in the history of the video gaming industry.
Izuku Midoriya - The main character of My Hero Academia who proves himself to be a good fighter.
Twilight Sparkle - A My Little Pony character who started out as an anti-social unicorn who only wanted to study to an outgoing princess of friendship who makes use of teamwork.
Ratchet - A skilled mechanic and the protagonist of the Rachet & Clank series.
Superman - The most powerful Justice League member that was originally born in his home planet but gained superpowers from the yellow sun.
Crash Bandicoot - One of the most iconic video game characters in existence.
Bugs Bunny - A cartoon rabbit who is famous for his trickster personality, as well as often having a rivalry with Yosemite Sam, Elmer Fudd, Daffy Duck, and more.
Donkey Kong - A character that was originally Mario's nemesis, but became a hero in his own spin-off series, Donkey Kong Country after being replaced with Bowser. Since then, he's mostly portrayed as an awesome Kong who is very strong and always helps out with his friends, or acts as an opponent.
Leonardo - A turtle who is the master when it comes to martial arts.

These characters frequently entertain audiences with their humor, and can make them laugh. They can go against their personality once in a blue moon, but are otherwise tolerable characters. It's gotten to the point that some of these characters are considered the most iconic characters in existence.

SpongeBob SquarePants (born July 14, 1986) is one of the ten main characters of the Nickelodeon animated series of the same name and Kamp Koral: SpongeBob's Under Years. He was designed by the former marine biologist, Stephen Hillenburg. Hillenburg based SpongeBob on Bob the Sponge, a character he had created for his educational book "The Intertidal Zone" in the late 1980s.

SpongeBob is a childish and joyful sea sponge who lives in a pineapple with his pet snail Gary in the underwater city of Bikini Bottom. He works as a fry cook at the Krusty Krab, a job which he is exceptionally skilled at and enjoys thoroughly. He attends Mrs. Puff's Boating School, and his greatest dream in life is to receive his boating license. Unfortunately, he tenses up whenever he has to drive a boatmobile, and he drives recklessly. SpongeBob is very good-natured and loves to hang out with his best friend Patrick. His teacher is Mrs. Puff and his boss is Mr. Krabs.

In The SpongeBob Musical, SpongeBob's exact species of sea sponge is identified: Aplysina fistularis, a yellow sea sponge who's commonly found in open waters.

SpongeBob or some other form of him appears or is mentioned in every episode of the series, beginning with the series' pilot episode "Help Wanted." He is voiced by Tom Kenny, who is married to Karen Plankton's voice actress, Jill Talley.
