Despereaux Tilling is the titular main protagonist of The Tale of Despereaux. He is a courageous young mouse with big ears and a love of reading books and exploring.

Why He is a Gentleman

1. Unlike the rest of the citizens of Mousetown, he is courageous and adventurous.
2. He enjoys reading books instead of eating them.
3. He is intelligent and inquisitive, as he constantly questions his town's way of living.
4. He is generous to everyone around him, even his enemies and those who don't respect him.
5. He is acrobatic, as he is able to collect cheese from mousetraps without being caught in them.
6. He proves to be a great swordsman despite his lack of experience.
7. Matthew Broderick did an incredible job voicing him.
8. He is able to glide with his enormous ears.
9. He is pretty much friendly to everyone around him.
10. He values truth, honor, and decency, which one would find in a hero.
11. He inspired other mice to overcome their fears.

Bad Qualities
